Great points JW! Virtually every time he got knocked down what did he do? He got up and won the fight! Outside of INGO 1 and the two Liston's he was NEVER in any serious trouble (maybe that 2nd KD in Quarry 1 but he got up and proceeded to kick Jerry's a r s e. He rose 7 times against Ingo, not to mention Ingo's behind the head punch which any competent ref would have given Floyd extra time to recover. And...Liston never put him in a face down 'puddle'! Rising both times; Sonny said he'd NEVER hit anyone so hard. How anyone can give my HOF Floyd any c r a p is beyond me?? Eras considered, Floyd would have been Blasting Norton with shots in a GOOD fight. My $0.02
I'd say Norton...they were close in skill, but I think Norton's superior size and strength make him the favorite here. Patterson was a hard puncher, IMO, but I don't think he was Shavers or Foreman level. So I think Norton grabs the decision or perhaps stops Patterson late.
