Do any of you think Ken Norton has the arsenal to trouble, perhaps even knock Tyson out late on in the fight? :think

Norton has the arsenal to KO Tyson late in the fight.

He probably doesn't have the ability or chin to get past the first round or two though.
I mean, it would be a shock result if he got as far round 4 against a hard-hitting fast-starter like Tyson, judging from his results against Foreman and Shavers.

    Tyson KO2.

If Norton was backed up, he was in trouble. Tyson backs him up early as Norton fears his power. This is fatal as Tyson moves in for the first knockdown late in the first round Norton is saved by the bell and is carried to his corner.

Notron comes out for the second round looking like he's going to fall over, Tyson punches him once as Norton attempts some sort of punch and Norton is out for the full count of 10.

I hear what you're saying but Norton would have beaten Cooney if at his best!

Nope. Tyson's been hit with heavy artillery before. Even when he was shot and on drugs against Lewis it still Lewis 8 rounds to finish him and that was after a deadly beating.

I highly doubt he will get past the initial 2 rounds because Tyson was such a beast. And Norton was completely weak against any kind of puncher.

That's a good scenario, except I honestly don't think Norton would make it past the first...Tyson would be like Jack Dempsey in an all out 1st round blitz. I really don't like always picking against Norton in these mythical matchups but dammit, he was toast against any big puncher he went up against..any big, for real hitter, and Tyson would have been the very worst of this kind that he could have faced. A fast starting monster like Tyson would have been Norton's arsenic, so to speak.

That would have been his only hope Jorodz...to pounce in a kamekaze sort of way, knowing his weakness against big hitters...but I believe that Tyson would shrug it off and respond with his own lethal artillery, and as predicted, Norton goes down and out.

doesn't matter, even it would make for a slightly more entertaining fight he would still get smoked. Tyson hits far too hard and fast for Norton to be competitive in any way

:lol:same here but i'm starting to see the arguments against norton as an all time great heavy. i mean, his resume is predicated on "robberies" against ali and his kryptonite was so prevalent and distinct. any big puncher stands a real chance, period

i agree with you and cobra.

i was just thinking about the mythical what if bonecrusher smith jumped on mike in the 1st and as he did with that right hand in the 12th...mike could VERY occasionally be stunned and maybe norton could make it interesting

but i really ****ing doubt it:!:
