Have we seen different fights? Chisora was terrible and he still put up decent effort. I don't understand how anyone can see last Usyk fight as some kind of magnificent performance.
I often cringe when reading back at most of my posts, mainly because I don’t proof read them & also go off on tangents all the bloody time, but I’m just going to bump this because I believe it holds a lot of weight.
It hasn't changed mine. Watching Usyk being walked down and caught by wide shots from Chisora did little to boost his image, in my opinion.
After watching Usyk fight Witherspoon and Chisora at heavyweight it'd take a bottle of Red breast Irish whiskey to convince me he'd beat Kenny Norton.
Norton is too strong for now. Even is Usyk beats Fury (a big IF), i still wouldn't favour him over a strong pressure fighter like Norton. Styles makes fights and Norton is a little bit too strong.
I like Usyk, he's one of my favourite boxers, but realistically. Is he a better boxer than Ali or Holmes? Is he a better mover than either? Does he hit harder (obviously not). Keep in mind that Norton gave both Ali and Holmes all they could handle in any of their fights.
Holmes was easier to hit with right hands than Usyk is, Usyk would use angles to land shots on Norton, angles that Ali didn`t take while using excessive movement v Norton in their first two clashes.
There`s no such thing as talent only fundamentals and after Chisora was warned for holding he got his ears boxed off, Chisora was never an elite fighter and was out of his depth.
1) it's just a funny quote from eastbound and down 2) talent does exist 3) Usyk outboxed chisora. Norton outboxed ali and took a prime Holmes to a razor thin decidion. Those are not the same levels. As pointed out, norton had trouble against real hard hitters more than boxers.
