Lyle had a big punch and the tools to dispatch Norton. But I'm on the fence on whether he would or not.

Ronnie likely just overpowers Norton if he doesn’t try to box.

There's only one way this fight ends and that's with a Lyle KO. I'm really stunned at how things are perceived these days. Norton always had an issue with this kind
of slugger and Lyle knew it and was salivating to fight Norton. It looked like it was about to happen when they inserted Joe Bugner instead. Oh, man was he pi**ed. I believe he actually sued over this.

Ron Lyle, again, is the single most overrated boxer on this forum, he was a journeyman not historically elite and he was not in this or any known solar system close to defeating Ali that night, while Norton was at least somewhat historically elite although he's also put on too high a pedestal here because of the Ali trilogy, but big punchers were kryptonite for Norton. Lyle KO.
