In the ring maybe but he was never that well schooled and let;'s not forget the abuse his body took when nearly being stabbed to death in prison .. he was an old 35 ..

Lyle would start off kind of strong, but Ken amazingly weathers it to win a close verdict.

When did Ken ever "amazingly weather" anything against a puncher of Ron's caliber?

Now I’m gonna sound like the odd one out I usually do. But I think Lyle was only a bit less capable then 70s Foreman.

Lyle was a seripusly big puncher but he didn't connect well v's good boxers, Peralta, Ali, Young, Ellis, Bugner...and Norton was a very good boxer, Ken on points for me.

TBF Young was very green in both bouts especially the first.

Yeah, like his 9th pro fight....does this qualify for being "fed to the wolves?

Here is the thing though, around this time, Ron starts to go downhill, so Ken has a chance of winning.

Norton’s style was distinctly different than all of the above and unlike any of them Norton had a shaky chin and could not fight off the back foot.

Good point and that damage also includes lifestyle abuse denied in prison. James Scott made that point.

That last right hand on Shavers was like hitting the bag! Ernie was already out on his feet and slumped completely forward at the waist.
