Prime Leon and prime Micheal (Micheal can come in light or fight as a HW as he did against Cooney and Holmes) Winner of both of these matches?
Well, he beats Leon hands down. Michael? I have seen very little of him, but how the f are you gonna keep Norton away without some respectable HW power? I mean, Foster was a great LHW and Norton would have mowed through him like dead grass. Don't like Michael's chances here.
As much respect as i have for the Spinks family ( or at least Michael ), I think Norton beats them both. After watching the incredible pressure that Norton placed on both a prime Holmes and a still very serviceable Ali, I can't imagine Spinks making it through. Norton easily KO's or stops Leon, while steadily breaking down Michael, who would be very unaccustomed to a classic 1970's heavyweight beating....... Norton KO 5 Leon Spinks Norton TKO 9 Michael Spinks.
Agree with the consensus so far. That Norton bodywork would pay major dividends by the second half of the bout and that'd be the beginning of the end. TKO 5-10. I also think that oddball jab of Norton's would be very effective against both Spinks and neither would really solve it. And he sure did follow up that jab with a 2 handed body assault and that's tough to absorb w/o showing the effects.
Both at once? Tough call. I'll go with the Spinks brothers around the third in a slugfest while it lasts.
He stops a prime Leon after a tough hard brawl. He decisions a heavyweight Michael in a fight that looks a lot like Holmes-Spinks II, except this time the Jinx is facing the real Ken Norton rather than Holmes impersonating his style and as a result the fight is more one-sided.
