Is Galento allowed to break out his toolbox of eye gouges, elbows and nut shots?

Dammit, Seamus, quit selling Galento short! He was about much more than gouges, elbows and nut shots. There were backhands, lace rakes, foot stomps, glove heels, kicks, rabbit punches, hitting from behind, tripping, biting, arm locks, choking, forearm uppercuts, and over seven or eight dozen more different strategies to chose from which I'd better not further elaborate on because kids might be reading this.

Why? Because they were built like night club bouncers but weren't one-dimensional sluggers?

lol a guy like galento is always going to have a chance anyway.
and I do think that despite Kenny being past his prime he still was very vulnerable to punchers and even had psychology problems with them.
Plus, his fights against ledoux and cobb don't help me to beleive that he can win a slugging fest.

Norton has very underrated power, he broke Ali's jaw and kept Holmes honest, as well as taking out Duane Bobick and busting up Jerry Quarry badly. All in all its hardly like he was feather fisted and I think that he is just a class above a guy like Galento and scores a late TKO.

    Well Said.

I do think that smart money is on Norton.

But in boxing odds are broken all the time.

He could certainly punch, no doubt about it. I wouldn't put much weight behind the quarry fight though, quarry was shot to ****.

I do agree though that norton is much better then galento legacy-wise based in his win over Ali. but this is just a bad styleistic matchup for norton IMO. A tough, hard hitting, and determined fighter who would certainly have a chance to crack Nortons glass jaw.

If Galento was in relatively "ggod shape" (say, 230 pounds or less) I would definitely expect him to KO Norton.

Norton would fight the same way he did against Stander, or Cobb, or LeDoux, or Bobick, or Shavers ........ same old Norton.
I think Galento had the durability and the power to ruin Norton's day.

Galento would be a live underdog and yes it would be a short guy that did not look fit standing over a well-muscled specimen. Norton could also stay on the outside and chop up Tony..but I think Kenny would feel Tony's surprise Left hook at some point and not sure he can survive it. this FIGHT REMINDS ME OF AN AMATEUR FIGHT and the first time I seen this guy fight it was a light heavy fight and this little short and chubby looking guys comes out in the 1st rd against this well-muscled and much taller Ken Norton look alike named Kirkland, Kirkland dropped the fat kid hard in the 1st and it looked like a mis-match...The little fat guy comes back and a war ensues ...anyway the little fat guy comes back to stop the big muscled guy..Fat guys name was Tony Ayala...and he trimmed down for the pro's...I did see heart and deceptive power although he shot himself in the foot before he could really prove it in the pro's.
