  1. Sad to say it but galento would win by early ko. Norton was by far better boxer but he was pathetic against punchers

Norton was "pathetic" against three of the biggest punchers EVER who were also a class or two above Gallento in terms of talent or power. Throw in the fact that Gallento would likely be handicapped by modern rules/judging and you've got a grade A ass-whooping on your hands.

I respect your opinion janitor but power means absolutely nothing if you can't land anything of substance. Do you really believe that a 5'8, obese HW who drank while he trained is going to defeat a prime '73-'75 Ken Norton? I emphasize the prime part because the only loss on Norton's record that can rationally be used to pick Gallento was in '79...when Norton was in his late 30's and clearly past it, after going to hell and back with Holmes a couple of years earlier.

  5. :rofl george foreman was x2 more powerful than galento

  6. norton had a bad chin against big punchers, and galento was a big puncher, of course he wasn´t foreman, shavers or cooney but still he was a very hard puncher. galento would ko norton in my opinion

I dont honestly think that he was.

Make no mistake, Gallento was one of the hardest punchers of his era in terms of pure power.

    I am not.

I dont think that punchers like Foreman are in a diferent power class than the hardest punchers in a given era. They just use it a little more efectivley.

I would chance a smal wager that Gallento probably hit haqrder than Joe Louis in terms of raw power.

i think this is an argument that can be made. galento's left hook may have carried more raw power than louis' right hand.

i've always felt that louis' strength was in technique, accuracy and timing rather than raw power ala foreman, cooney, max baer.

galento hit like a truck...but as stated he didn't know how to use that power effectively

  11. joe louis was more accurate but george foreman was by far harder puncher than joe louis an dmuch stronger . foreman did hit harder than anyone (even shavers) and he is the strongest hw ever. to say that this pork galento was powerful as foreman is simply blasphemy

I am inclied to think that Shavers and Liston both hit slightly harder than Foreman, due to testimony from common oponents.

In many eras the hardest puncher is not one of the absolute elite fighters. For example the hgardest puncher of Gallento's era might be sombody like Tommy Gomez or Turkey Tomphson.

    Norton has become overrated.
I know he beat Ali but that was because they had certain styles that cancelled each other out, and made their fights close and competitive. Of course Norton was no bum, but against fighters other than Ali he looked very ordinary.
He wasn't a class above Galento at all.

  15. foreman knocked lyle out, lyle took the blows of eranie shavers and lyle did beat shavers.

A green (213 pounds) george foreman in his fight number 4 destroyed chuck wepner in 3 rounds.
Sonny liston did beat wepner in 10 rounds by cuts.
Foreman faced much better rivals than liston did and still his %ko is a joke compared with the %ko of george

shavers is debatable, but george had brutal hitting power in both hands and much more strength . Liston is not even close
