I dont know enough about basketball to intelligently reply to that but no, probably not. I looked at some of your past posts and see that you slag off Marciano and Calzage also. Doesnt take much imagination to see whats going on here. Your posts have no merit when they are poisoned by your bias.

well regarding basketball, multiple credible coaches and players (Kobe for one) state how with modern rules, Jordan, Drexler etc could easily have scoring averages much higher than any of the modern players. So yes, they would dominate

with modern boxing being diluted due to rising popularity of other sports, its not hard to believe old timers can beat the new timers

I disagree with that chin part. He did get off the floor to beat undefeated knockout artist Peter at that time, and David Haye hit him with the vaunted "Hayemaker" at least twice. Not claiming he has a great chin but...
I agree with the last part. What a joke that was. If the ref hadnt let Wlad win the easy way, Wlad may have won a more impressive fight. Or maybe it would have given Povetkin the chance he needed. We'll never know I suppose. That was **** though.

Big deal. Wlad would impale a guy like Jess Willard. Have you watched any footage of these giants you refer to? Hell, Willard KO'd Jack Johnson and they were about the same age. Willard would be annihilated by Klitschko. Dempsey was 185 lbs. Come on. Jack Johnson 6 feet tall. Tyson is 5'10".

I'm not saying Tyson couldn't beat Klitschko. I don't know, but he seems to be too small to get inside on him. He would definitely be more effective than Tua but I still don't like his chances. A lot depends on what the ref would allow.

Buster Douglas beat Tyson with a piston like jab, followed by big right hands, just what Wlad does. When you say Tyson tore through fighters 5" taller, that means they were 6'3". Much smaller than Wlad.

Norton's prime was in the 70s, Jordan's was in the 90s. Bird was 87-88, Magic's best late 80s, Only Kareem's prime was about the same time as Norton.

And two completely different sports, so not really comparable.

Pro Boxing has been around 50+ years longer than basketball

by Nortons time, it was 70+ years old

The NBA in the 80s was just over 35 years old

What do Mitch Green, Bonecrusher Smith, Tony Tucker, Buster Douglas, Razor Ruddock and Lennox Lewis all have in common? They all either went the distance with Mike, gave him a lot of trouble and/or knocked him out. If you look at Mikes record close, it is obvious that yes, size did matter a lot in his fights also when facing top 10 legit heavyweights. Tyson the giant slayer is a myth.

I agree. When Tyson was climbing up the HW ranks most guys were petrified of him. You could see it before the bout ever started. Holyfield wasn't intimidated. That is why he kicked Tyson's ass. Tyson was a bully who wet his pants when guys weren't afraid of him. That's why he tore off a piece of Holyfield's ear. He was scared to death of Holyfield.

why are you changing your argument? Your argument was about size mattering.

Try to stick with defending that argument.

fact remains, Dempsey killed Willard, Louis tore up the Alp and Tyson beat several huge men, and theres far more examples.

so, you admit you hadn't the knowledge to make a judgement, but then imagine probably not.
you then accuse the OP of imagining things, which is explicity what you juat committed.

and to top that, you then claim his posts have no merit, BASED ON YOU NOT HAVING THE KNOWLEDGE TO MAKE A JUDGEMENT but then going on to ASSUME you DO have it and the OP doesn't have it.
