Here's a pretty accurate preview of Norton taking Wlad's best shot:

I'm not a fan of Wlad because of his style...but the guy deserves respect.

His physical assets give him such an edge over almost anyone he goes up against, so although guys like Ken Norton were great boxers, they will still be up against a mean task in getting past the jab, right, klintch style.

Wlad is effective, even if you don;t like him.

Boxing don“t evolves , thats a Myth from guys who compare Boxing
    with other Sports.
Boxing or generally fighting is unique.

Any Fighter from the past has a chance to beat modern boxers
for there are some reasons but I think who will deal with the sport know it

    About Norton vs Klitschko.
I think that Norton can keep up easily in terms of boxing skills like
he did against Holmes or Ali + equal reach to Klitschko , good defense
    and decent body size

But i dont know if he can deal with Klitschkos Punching Power.
Norton only lost to Big Punchers like Foreman , Cooney and Shavers.
All three are fast starters , Klitschko not really.

If Norton can absorb the Punching Power
then he has a good chance.

Norton UD or Klitschko mid Rounds KO

    This Klits are robotic bums.
People like to wonder how they would fare against Ali or Homes when the fact is they would have never made it past that era's top contenders to even get a chance at the champs.
Shavers would have KO'ed both. Foreman would have absolutely destroyed them and I even doubt that either would have been able to defeat Cooney.

exactly, some people truly refuse to acknowledge the facts, athletes are SO much better now in EVERY SINGLE sport you cant even truly compare the old timers to todays men.

Do you really believe that fighters are more skilled now than in the past?

plenty of sports have skills that have eroded and even disappeared completely.

its your refusal to believe this that's the problem. deal with it.

The klitschkos haven't big wins. But they beat lots of decent fighters.
Otherwise 70s era is overrated as hell, seemingly everybody (including
the referees) is ATG heavyweight (Ali,Norton,Frazier,Foreman maybe Wepner,Lyle,Stander,Shavers,Bob Foster,Quarry,Chuvalo,Young etc.) Some 70s fans=zero objectivity.
I have a question. Why was so good the 70s era?

The Klitschkos are "Modern Sports Science" Heavyweights. People look back and are mislead about just how different boxing is now (1996-2014) compared to past-eras (1920's - very early 1980's).

Marciano would be destroyed by both Klitschko brothers. He wouldn't stand a chance, unless they came up in his era (without today's "modern sports science" and nutrition/training facilities.

Frazier was great in his era, but he'd have a tremendously difficult time with either brother. I know people might disagree with that, but I believe it's accurate.

The Klitschkos wouldn't win every fight vs. all ATG's, but they wouldn't lose them all either. Athletes are bigger and stronger now (and usually faster). But, on the other hand, the HWs in the 70's had 15 round fights. And they trained for them. I'm sure that if the Klitschko brothers had been around during the 70s, they would look a bit different than they do now in terms of physical dimensions. Their training regimen would have been tailored differently. Stamina was crucial then.

You make some decent points on everything except the Buster Douglas comparison. Buster fights nothing like the Klitchko brothers, especially Wladimir (post-Steward). Buster actually lets his hands go and gets caught (see his early KO loss to Holyfield). He even got caught (and got the benefit of the doubt) in the Tyson fight, where he was teeing off on a listless and disinterested Tyson that night. Buster beating Tyson was actually a fluke. Rightfully one of, if not THE, biggest upsets in boxing history.

Nah, you failed to mention how Evan Fields was probably roided to the gills for BOTH of those fights. That's not to mention how he used his ****in head like a battering ram every time he caught a glimpse of Tyson getting ready to throw a meaningful shot. He opened Tyson's eye up to the point where it could've starting talking to Jim Grey for him in post-fight interviews. He actually cut him over both eyes after two fights, solely by butting. Not saying what Tyson did was right, but Holyfield was dirrrrty in every way for those fights. :bart

No HW fighters today have the workrate and stamina of past HWs.

So what does Modern Sports Sceince even mean in regards to HW boxing?

Rocky Marciano was the best conditioned boxer to ever live.

Say he fought in the Cruiser division today. His main rival would be Huck.

Huck has to pick his spots to T-off and needs to shell up to regain his stamina. He always looks exhausted- flailing with his mouth wide open.

Rocky fought in those spurts every min of every round for a full 15 rounds. There ain't nobody who could do that today.
