So, the opposite of how Earnie Shavers KOed Norton.

So, Alexander wouldn't fight like Shavers and he couldn't hit like Shavers. But he's going to KO Norton by "backing straight up" from Norton's jab and not moving his head?

    Got it.

And yet I've just posted two consecutive videos, including one of a matchup that you specifically requested, of Povetkin backing up guys with longer jabs than him and mauling them on the ropes. :ciao:

    Maybe.

But around here, Povetkin is (in my humble opinion) one of the most overrated heavyweights in recent memory (in the same company with Tua, Ike, and Sanders).

If anybody is interested in the Povetkin / Donald fight, here it is. Donald is a tough, technically sound fighter who had a decent jab. Povetkin was still young back here, but won convincingly. What is interesting to note is that the fight is low-paced for a Povetkin fight, and that Sasha demonstrates a decent jab himself, tagging Donald as much as Donald does him with it. At the end of the day I think Povetkin was just younger, faster, and managed to land more than Donald landed on him. The salient point here is that Donald's jab is in no way an obstacle to Sasha winning the fight:
