Lol what? I've definitely seen people saying Norton was on steroids. And, I highly doubt Norton was the only one of that era to be doing them.

Steroids are the norm and have been for a very long time.

So your source is a nameless internet poster who says "everyone" know?

    Copy, I guess.

Another way Norton has been overrated is as the defacto “buzz saw of all boxers” all his results show he is good at getting good “out boxers” some of the time? I think he won Ali 3, some don’t and that was a shot Ali after Frazier 3 (close bout) he debatably lost to Young a not great and the Holmes fight isn’t quite as close as folks say it is for me… losing to Ali in fight 2 when he wasn’t 10lbs heavier made sense but was close again, not sure where his reputation as a “buzz saw” is supported without Futch it’s likely we don’t see weekly threads about the guy.

The first paper about steroid abuse in sports was printed in the 70s (tells me it was notable) Arnold was juicing up as a teenager in Austria. I think pro athletes would have there sources they’d already started bringing doctors into there camps (Sal Sanchez had one) I believe Ali also but I don’t remember when it became more wide spread.

Source for what? People saying Norton was steroids? Go look, it's not proof he did or didn't.

It's naive to think top fighters weren't using every advantage they can get. Especially in an era where testing was essentially nonexistent.

On what basis is Povetkin rated so high? What did he ever accomplish? In an era with about 1,000 belts, he won a vacant ‘WBA regular’ that he defended against old men, a cruiserweight and a nobody.

Win over Ali > win over Cedric Boswell, lol.

Yes but who is "people?" People like Taylor Swift and voted for the Nazis. People can't be trusted.

WHO has said it and where?

Bob Hazelton a relative journeyman 180lbs or so started juicing up after his loss to George Foreman in 1969.

“I was very skinny when I fought George," he said. "It was very scary getting into the ring against a guy that big.

"After that fight, I was training in England and an ultimatum was put to me: Either take these pills or get beat up."

If people can't be trusted, why even bring it up? I don't remember who said it, because its just a factoid, and not proof of another. I don't care enough to look, if you want to know, go and do it yourself.

Unquestionably , Povetkin is short on good wins next to Norton, his best wins? Ruslan Chagaev, Whyte, a 40 year old Rahman ? Maybe a 40 year old Larry Donald or a 37 year old Chris Byrd?...Norton's best is a level above Povetkin's best

I didn’t say anything about how highly rate Povetkin is, I think he’s a very good HW on about the level of guys like Norton and probably a good choice to KO Kenny.

George’s tactic here is basically: “Well, Ken had muscles and PEDs had been invented. So we have to assume there’s a good chance he used them. I’m not saying he did, but, I mean, nobody ever had muscles without steroids amIrite???!!!”

Whereas Povetkin could melt a sample cup with his pee, lol. And pretty much fell apart when he reached a point where a third failed test would have ended his career so he had to back off the gear.

Well if he’s not rated highly then why discuss him as a guy who could beat someone who is?

Povetkin has no meaningful resume. Norton beat Ali once and was in two other close fights with him. I’d say that alone makes him a greater fighter than Povetkin.

As for KO’ing Ken, what’s the basis for that? Who did Alexander ever KO worth nothing … David Price, lol?

No, my 'tactic' is not that. You can have muscles naturally at 220, or you can be in condition to box for 15 rounds of pressure fighting. Name me a fighter who could do that at that size before the 60s. You'll find very few, if any and they wouldn't look like Norton, that's for sure.

So we begin to see never before guys like this, shortly after the wider introduction of steroids to the west - while there's basically no testing - and don't expect them to be using? The reason I said I'm not outrighting accusing him, is because, there is basically no testing. I have no evidence other than his circumstances.

Call it what you want, but that's suspicious no matter what.
