If that was the case, you wouldn't have made a declaration as to what happened in that fight as you don't actually know what the truth is.

What do you mean by "your" evidence?

The evidence that says he took a dive is "your" evidence, but the evidence that says he didn't is not?

Zibba, Harry B Smith said it was a set up IN PRINT. That name means nothing to you and leaves you unimpressed but it means a s---load to me and there are reasons for this believe me.
Chriss Dundee and Frankie Carbo were in biz at the time. Carbo was ringside.

Heres onna the greatest complements to Ken from onna the great voices of Harry Grebs career Havey Boyle.

Overlin: A Study In Experience .

He has slowed down considerably from the Overlin who used to come through here and give fans a reminder of Harry Greb, but his ring intelligence is still ... All 2 related - Related web pages

Plenty of writers claimed plenty of fights were set ups in print. That wasn't unique back then. There were writers who said in print that Ernie Schaaf had taken a dive against Carnera before word got out that he was in a coma.

And what about the names of the writers who said the KO was legit? What do those names mean to you?

Overlin's style was often likened to Greb's, but the reports that did so still weren't always favorable to him.

    For example:

"Overlin has a style reminiscent of the late Harry Greb. But he has not the stamina, speed or generalship that were characteristic of the Pittsburgh fighter."

Well NYT Dawson said this from one fight of Kens vs Apostoli in the HIP.
Havey Boyle, by 1941 had witnessed a slew of superior Pittsburgh showings by Ken beginning 1935 vs Anson Green

Having said that please don't maneuver me into comparing Ken to Greb as fighters ok?

You still don't get my point, Ken got nailed very hard by Steele, but it was scripted.

As far as naming writers who said the KO was legit, that's redundant as to my point AND your walking into a trap for yourself because i have every local Seattle/Tacoma pap ringside reportage on this fight, and if i ask you to name or quote them your gonna be very stuck.

Harry B. Smith of the San Francisco Chronicle, in addition to the previous impeccable blerbs, was in the mold of Dan Parker.

Totally fearless in printing the truth about boxings corruption.

I do get your point, actually. But it's irrelevant. The fact remains you're making pronouncements about something you yourself have absolutely no clue about, and are simply accepting one writer's unproven and unprovable conspiracy theory.

No it isn't. It shows that you're selectively choosing to believe one source's words over others on a matter you yourself have no clue about.

    :huh

Like this one from the Spokane Daily Chronicle?

"After firing two crushing left hooks in quick succession to finish Overlin in the fourth, Steele broke down before the near-capacity crowd of close to 9000 fans and sobbed openly."

Or the ones in the Seattle Daily Times or the Centralia Daily Chronicle?

Asking me to dig up old articles and retype them is just diversionary. It doesn't change the fact that you are giving factual credence to the unprovable claims of a single source that is in the extreme minority (at best) on this issue.

So were the writes who claimed Schaaf took a dive against Carnera.

Being "fearless" doesn't make what someone claims accurate.

I just challenged you to quote the ringside paps and a week later, sure enough, you scrambled up some online wireservice blerbs.

You have no idea what went on inside the pages of the Seattle Times or the other Seattle/Tacoma papers ringside, and you took a week to scramble up the other wire service blurbs after the fact, so i consider your claim about my "diversion" some level of Freudian slip-projection.

You've read time and time again here from the better posters on ESB, to research a fight you gotta go local, get offline and spool up the microfilm, a methodology you've never followed and you should really fess up and admit it.
Subsequently, its always been my standard practice and my example has influenced other respected posters here at ESB, and they've said so to me.

You want to undue the huuugness of Harry B. Smith exposing Frankie Carbo and risking basically life and limb, you've got your work very very cut out for you.

Its an opinion in the extreme minority because of fear.

Actually, you didn't. You said you would challenge me and I went ahead and re-posted one of the local clippings before you did.

Yes I do actually, I've come across clips from papers both local and national.

No, it took me a few moments after logging in here for the first time after a week and reading your post for the first time. Now you're resorting to making **** up about my life.

And as you've done in this thread, you'd just be "considering" things to be whatever you want them to be.

No I haven't, actually. The ones here who have done the best research on fights are the ones who actually take the time to WATCH them.

Again, resorting to making arrogant declarations about my life that you have no clue about.

Which perhaps explains why you're assessment of the Zale-Hostak fights was so wrong, as a simple glimpse of the films showed.

No I don't actually. The one who has his work cut out for him is you to provide some semblance of tangible proof that someone's conspiracy theory is accurate. Otherwise it's still nothing more than someone's conspiracy theory, no matter how many ways you try to spin it or repeat it.

The ones that I named two posts earlier, for starters.

You really don't have anything to back up what you say other than this kind of diversionary nonsense, do you?

Even all your big talk about what "respected posters think" of your approach isn't accurate, as this thread already showed:
    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=215273&page=2

Just another example of you either distorting or cherry picking the facts.
