Ken Shamrock will return to mixed martial arts competition on February 13 as part of the ‘Valentine’s Eve Massacre’ event at the Selland Arena in Fresno, California, co-promoted between Wargods and Ken Shamrock Productions, according to a recent interview with TheGarv.com.
Facing him will be heavyweight pitfighter and Gladiator Challenge veteran Bo Cantrell. “Redrum” was last seen eating canvas against Kimbo Slice back at EliteXC ‘Renegade’ in November of 2007, his fifth straight loss.
Expected to join them on the card are Wargods’ heavyweight champion Lavar “Big” Johnson, Buddy Roberts, Mike Moreno, Tonya Evinger, Jennifer Tate and Isaac De Jesus.
Also appearing is the world’s most dangerous offspring, Ryan Shamrock (1-1).
Ken (26-13-2) is a mixed martial arts pioneer who has not won a professional fight in more than four years. In fact, he has lost eight of his last 10 fights dating back to 2001 and he’s on a five-fight losing skid.
A UFC Hall of Fame inductee, Ken dropped his first and only bout under the ProElite banner, losing to Robert “Buzz” Berry via knockout at Cage Rage 25: “Bring it On” earlier this year.
It was supposed to be a warm-up for the “World’s Most Dangerous Man” to groom him for a big money match down the road against either Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson or Ken’s younger brother, Frank.
He didn’t deliver … and he rarely does these days.
Shammy was eventually matched up against Kimbo at EliteXC’s “Saturday Night Fights” on October 4 on CBS, but was forced to withdraw — literally hours before showtime — after an errant headbutt in sparring opened up a severe laceration above his eye.
UFC castaway and undercard fighter Seth Petruzelli took his place and the rest (as they say) is history.
    Ken Shamrock apparently, is not.

There has to be something wrong with Ken. I guess at least he may be in with a win as Bo is pretty useless by any decent standard. Then again Ken hasnt won a bout since beating Kimo 5 years ago.

The fact of the matter is WHY is Ken still doing this? Why is he humiliating himself like this and why on earth does he continue to fight?! He`d be better of joining the WWE.

I've been watching alot of his earlier fights, i thought he was excellent, really exciting, Scurla.

It's really sad how things end up ... is he short of money, i don't understand it either ?

I thought Frank and Ken were going to fight? I guess the death of Elite XC put an end to that bout.

Full disclosure here, I sure as hell wouldn't say what I'm about to say to Ken Shamrock's face.

Firstly in the first 10 ever Ufc tournaments I'm still haunted by the image of Ken shamrocks pastel coloured posing pouches that he was quite fond of wearing back then, shudder. secondly during the ultimate fighter reality show as a coach, he was doing all this someone hold me back crap to Ortes the other coach. and has been mentioned before, his recent fights have been an absolute embarrassment.

Frank was PURE WWE material. I remember the press conference when he said he`d beat Tito into the "living death". Tito just laughed at him like he was a child and this rankled Ken even more. His whole WWE act was really really stale and his hard man demeanour belied the minimal skills he really had.

If Ken had been around now, he'd be a no-namer. He's lucky he was doing submission wrestling when everyone was just into striking & wrestling

i can see the fight now. they're both introduced, then the staredown, then they touch gloves then they're both out cold.

very true. it's just a shame he needs 2 take his fighing seriously or just hang up the gloves he is ruining his legacy. he wont be remembered 4 being a great fighter that he was but a washed up can. its sad
