You're probably right. However - I find myself rooting for Shamrock in this one.

Shamrock needs to win. It would be a great cap on his career.

This is a hard fight for me.

I genuinely like Kimbo more than I do Shamrock. I also like it when old guys beat young guys, especially when the old guy has been written off.

I pull for underdogs, and I pull for unexpected outcomes. Wouldn't it be great if Shamrock ko'd Kimbo standing? Wouldn't it be awesome if Kimbo submitted Shamrock? I don't know about you, but either of those outcomes would be great and awesome for me.

I also like to see guys make it when they are considered by many to be a joke. That description seems to fit both fighters now. Shamrock has been reduced to the level that a famed street fighter with a limited skill set and only 3 mma fights is rightfully favored to defeat him. Kimbo is labeled by many as a circus show that will never amount to a legitimate MMA contender/champion.

I guess I'll side with the future of MMA, and choose to root for Slice. With every victory he'll gain more attention, and not just to himself. The sport will gain more fans as long as the Kimbo Show continues to press on.

Kimbo getting paid is not the biggest injustice in this sport. Fedor not getting paid is.

Oh, I forgot to and must say; great post(s) sugarngold. You should submit that somewhere. I'm sure someone will put it in their news section.

No it wouldnt. It would be meaningless. Shamrock is shot end of story. Even when in his prime he wasnt a smart fighter. He never had a decent standup. His submissions were very limited. His wrestling wasnt that great and he never evolved with the sport. In my opinion despite Kens longevity in the sport, and his status in the UFC as a pioneer he just simply was not a smart nor versatile fighter. At 44 odd years of age now all his fighting on is his pride and fumes. Ken may pull the upset and submit Kimno but what does that really prove for him? Is anyone going to take ken more seriously because he beat up a "street fighter"?

hahaha, I thought the same thing what's another good **** kicking from "the world's most dangerous man".....He really has to drop that line.

He looked bad in his last fight and I don't thing anything will be different except maybe a more brutal beating.

It wasn't much a graze at best, it looked like Ken didn't even want to be there. He was noticeably scared.

It was bloody awful. Ken didnt do anything. Berry was a stiff as a bored and screaming for an over hand right. And all Ken could do wa sparry absorb a few leg kicks and posture and pose like he was about to do something. He didnt even try and shoot for a takedown. It was pathetic to watch espcially against a can like Robert Berry.

I've managed to garner no less than 30 comments cursing the fact that an article on MMA is featured on ESB.

It would be handy if there wasa double KO! Kills two birds with one stone.

    lol

That would be something. Kimbo would probably be declared the winner and replays would only ever show Shamrock being KO'd.

    http://www.mmanews.com/other/Ken-Shamrock:-Ive-Got-Enough-To-Beat-This-Guy.html

On the “story” behind the fight: “…You’ve got a veteran fighter, obviously at the end of his career…my best, strong days are behind me, but I’ve got enough to beat this guy. So, I’m looking forward to getting into this and exposing him for what he is. He’s a big, strong guy, and in the future, he could be something. But again, people are billing him as ‘the MMA,’ and he’s not. There’s so many other guys out there that are so more well-rounded in that heavyweight class, that for him to get all this recognition is just unfair to them. And it’s not that Kimbo’s doing anything wrong, I mean, he’s a guy that’s taking what’s given to him, you know, and if I was in his situation, I’d be taking all that I could get, too.”

On Kimbo Slice’s power: “I dunno man, maybe it’s just being ignorant and being hard-headed, because that’s the kind of person that I am, I’m very stubborn, but I call it like I see it, and I don’t see the guy having power. I see he generates a lot of power for a big guy, but I just don’t see it. I saw a lot of the guys he’s knocked out but he usually knocked them out when they were tired...I see a guy that’s just a big dude, that punches and has got some power, but he’s not like Mike Tyson.”

On Kimbo Slice’s weight advantage: “If you’re big and strong and you can’t move, it’s a disadvantage in this sport because there’s so many ways to attack a person. There’s jabs, there’s quick punches, there’s in-and-out, there’s leg kicks, there’s clinches and sweeps, there’s all kind of things. If you’re big and strong, it’s only gonna last a short time. You’re gonna be able to try and control a guy a short time, but eventually, the quickness is gonna get ya.”
