I thought Ed Herman beat him, and I assume this is a troll thread. If you are serious, he doesn't need to learn to sprawl better (well he does, but sprawl and strike would not be his ideal strategy), the champion right now woud demolish him on his feet, his best bet would be to become much much better at takedowns and learn to play a more top game oriented Jiu Jitsu game. Nothing against Kendall, you can't really knock the guy, hes a good up and comer. And not to be mean, but how can you not enjoy his fight with Joe Riggs? Yes Kendall was young, yes he is much better now, no I am not doing it to discredit Kendall, but this is just so damn fun to watch [yt]vGBFD4bvyFw[/yt]
Franklin and Silva would both own him in standup and on the ground. Let's not even get into what Hendo would do to him should he decide to move down for the belt. atsch
That was a nice fake Joe pulled, look away get your opponent to think you ain't paying attention and BANG!!!!!!, Drop a bomb of an elbow on his face.
Height can be a disadvantage when your skinny and grappling is invloved. Height is not an advantage in MMA as it is Boxing.
I think he's improved dramatically, problem is he is prone to takedowns, he doesn't have the best sprawl but he makes up for it with notable flexibility in his legs, I expect to see him catch less wary opponents with traingles.. Thing is, I cant really picture him competing with more skilled fighters like Anderson Silva or Franklin, to beat these guys you really need to be a dynamic fighter, which I don't believe Kendall will ever become. He doesn't shine enough in a single category to overcome the big names, but I would bet he will have a good amount of success, making his way to title shots and eventually losing.. Mike, how do you think he can beat Dan Henderson? Dan is a dynamic wrestler who Kendall has no answers for. Dan Henderson has an extremely good chin, a monster right hand, is a master at takedowns and avoiding submissions. Dan Henderson is the last guy a fighter like Kendall Grove could beat. Rich Franklin poses great well roundedness and is a southpaw, which is still pretty rare in MMA. Kendall hasn't seen a fighter of Rich's calibre and would likely fall victim to southpaw striking tactics. Silva has a great chin and is an Amazing striker. He cant stand up with Silva, Silva's BJJ is better than Kendalls. He's just outclassed in every category when comparing him to these guys. Height alone isn't going to help much if your a daddy long leg type fighter with decent striking. He just doesn't have enough to keep any of these guys off of him, nor does he have better striking than ANY of the fighters mentioned.
Grove has nothing keeping im up. Sylvia is a tall ogre who isn't easy to take down due to him being a tall fat ass who fought a lot of nobodies. He finally took on a WRESTLER with great takedowns who should be fighting at light heavy and got his ass handed to himself. Exact same thing would happen if he fought Henderson, except Henderson is a far better striker than Grove, AND is extremely capable of picking Grove up and dropping him on his head. Its hard to sprawl when you have a little spider leg and don't have the punching power to pop the zit of an ingrown hair on someone like Hendersons chin. Besides, it seems like Henderson is going on to fight light heavy anyhow. Henderson is so strong he would tie those long legs into a bow and knock Grove out with the hair on a knuckle of his right hand.
I'm waiting for the line to come out for his fight against COTE I think Cote is going to knock Kendalls block off. If the line looks nice im gonna bet big on Patrick Cote.
Grove will NEVER be a champion. His Tito impression is getting really tired and his not half as good as he thinks he is.His only advantages are because his tall and thats it.
