His ****ing annoying to be frank. The guy is blessed with being a very tall and rangy middleweight who could make some noise if he didnt take himself sooooo seriously. His takedown defense is torrid and his striking isnt that much better either. His BJJ on the floor is ok but to be honest he doesnt do anything exceptionally well.Riggs KO`ed him and Ramirez handled him with ease. The only reason his ever made it is because of the TUF shows.

Being a 6'6 185lber isn't really as much as an advantage.

The difference between Grove and a guy like Sylvia is that Grove is skinny for his weight class, Sylvia is not.

Grove is a 6'6 185lber fighting 6'0 185lbers, Sylvia is a 6'8 ~285lber that drains to 265 to fight 220lbers. Sylvia has both a height AND weight advantage over most of his opponents, so he's a total ogre in the octagon. Grove, on the other hand, has the height/reach but is prone to being overpowered by a shorter, stronger opponent.

Sprawl and brawl really isn't as effective at the lower weight classes, especially for really tall guys. Taller fighters lack the explosiveness to stay out of the takedown/grappling game, even if they do have the range to sprawl out nice. Look at Liddell - his sprawl game works because he's fairly compact for a LHW, not because he's a beanpole that can stretch out.

Tall, thin fighters that try to sprawl as their main gameplan tend to get manhandled when they fight a guy like Henderson.
