A complete broadcast of this fight is actually harder to find than one would initially imagine. Something of a lost mini-classic with two fighters from the last generation whom were very important in their own time. Maybe a little before most posters time but I member.

Definitely not a fight that should be forgotten among boxing fans. Enjoy!

A rubbermatch would have been nice but looking at their careers retrospectively we can say with a measure of certainty that Holt was just the flat out better man.

He's underrated today. I guess people forget Holt nearly taking off Bradley's head long before Ruslan got around to doing it, and Tim wasn't fighting like a complete fool against Holt either.

Many people probably know this already, but in case some dont, I must recommend another fight from Ricardo Torres. Him against Miguel Cotto.

What a fantastic fight it was.

    K. Holt was such a great talent. Blessed with so many athletic and physical gifts but seriously lacking in a couple key areas. Could absolutely bang when he wanted to, judging by his KO% it wouldn't appear he could but then he'd uncork one and one hit quit somebody. Used to love watching him fight. Used to love watching Torres too. IB made a thread about 6 months ago on the topic of glass cannons: guys who have murderous power and an equally abysmal chin. Both these guys could be classed as glass cannons though I doubt I'd call Holt one, but Torres is pretty much the prototype glass cannon. IB made a comment too in that thread about Colombia's ability to churn out some of the biggest glass cannons in boxing like they were coming off an assembly line, and Torres or Alejandro Berrio were probs my the top 2 Colombian GC's of their time.

The first fight was such a great fight but unfortunately the 2nd was a faceplant, at least for Torres. Would have loved to have seen a 3.

They probably made 20k a piece for their two crazy wars damn. These were straight fire fights! I just recently read how much Holt made vs Garcia and realized why he's making a come back Boxing is ridiculous

Umberto Savigne is more of a glass cannon prototype. At least Torres could hang with the likes of Cotto and other top 20-50 boxers

Great find @Russell . I remember seeing this fight and immediately due to the controversial stoppage, I couldn't wait for a second.
I thought Torres got jipped in the second fight due to the HUGE head butt which buzzed him so bad he couldn't protect himself from that sick straight right hand Holt bounced off his fully exposed chin. Full weight and all. Always wish "they" would have made that bout a no contest. Too bad no instant replay.
