Kendall Holt would be the perfect tuneup for Floyd

if Floyd were to really take a fight on July 11 on HBO, I can think of no more perfect opponent. He is a quality fighter, with at least some name recognition, that HBO would certainly approve. He'd give Floyd some competitive rounds, but would not pose a significant threat, and Floyd would end up likely knocking him out or pulling away with a lopsided UD.

July 11 is 3 months out, so Holt would be available. He had a small cut last night, but that's insignificant. Holt also now has to get back in line in what is becoming a stacked weight class. Taking a fight with Floyd, even for a modest payday, with Floyd getting his $5 million or so, would be both an opportunity for another solid payday, maybe more than he earned last night, plus the chance to spoil Floyd's comeback.

It remains to be seen whether Floyd actually takes a tuneup, I'm skeptical, considering his usual $ demands and this being a non pay per view event. But if he wants a fight before Pac, Hatton, or JMM, then imo Holt is a great choice.

why not timothy bradley? 2 belts in the division where Floyd's reign was arguably the weakest and also the one where fLoyd would fight PAc.

Bradley would bring 2 belts to the table and an '0', but more importantly Zero risk. Holt carries no risk, but brings less value

Maybe if Bradley took the fight at 147, where after he loses to Floyd, he can go back to 140 and still have his belts. But at 140, for the money on the table for Floyd's opponent, it wouldn't happen. Bradley has two belts. Floyd, undoubtedly, would want a ridiculous split on this fight, like 80/20. Something along the lines of DLH-Forbes. If Bradley loses his belts, while taking such a low percentage, then he's a fool.

Floyd is not known to be greedy on splits. Bradley is the unified champ so 80-20 would be ridiculous. It would be 50-50.

I actually just talked to Mayweather a couple of days ago. He still doesnt know if hes gonna fight on July 11th, but I tell you what he looks like hes in crazy shape already. hitting the gym at 1 AM is not just staying in shape, hes getting ready to get down. Bradley would be way better to fight not Holt.

Mayweather would destroy Bradley, but it would definitely be an entertaining fight, and Bradley would get a nice payday along with the ass whooping .

if floyd is going to come back and take a tune up then the perfect guy is andre berto. a raw prospect with a lot of promise, but with a questionable defence, and he holds the WBC belt.

Yeah that is true, but does anyone REALLY want to see that again??? If not for the two knockdowns, were it appeared that Bradley was in no danger of being stopped, that fight would have been pretty one sided. Its really not in the realm of Andrade v Bute were Bute was close to being stopped after he dominated..
