Kendall "Rated-R" Holt is returning...

He never officially retired and has often hinted at mounting a comeback, though his layoff will have been a few months shy of 4 years when he climbs between the ropes again on a CBS televised card on November 11th. No word on the opponent yet.

He is still pretty active in the gym and seems to have not wavered from his usual fighting weight or fitness levels, and has been dabbling in coaching and thus keeping regularly activity in the gym and sparring.

If he is campaigning once more at light welter he would be a welcome addition to a division that outside Crawford looks wide open at the moment. If he is half of what he was he could be part of some juicy match-ups with the likes of Broner and Burns.

Power is the last to go, and was always his calling-card - and look how old Randall Bailey was still in the championship mix...

 

Hell yeah. Crispy left hook vs. Holt's right hand, let's do it again. Wasn't uncompetitive last time. :good

(and Holt unlike Bailey was always more of a complete fighter, not just a puncher)

 

Does anybody doubt that Holt could spark out Broner today?

 

...damn, Kendall signed with his new promoter eleven months ago but this is the first action he's seeing ever since. :-(

 

Holt isn't some chump, young'n.

He gave a good account of himself versus Bradley and Garcia, and in the first 3-4 rounds with Peterson.

Granted he will need to shake off some rust and may not be 100% his old self even after doing so, but the boy can damn sure crack and Broner can damn sure be hit (and hurt) by anyone that can fight a lick.

In his prime his power was comparable to Maidana's, but with lots more boxing skill.
