Gov. Deval Patrick signed regulation into law this Monday, and it's been confirmed that the UFC will be staging an event in beantown within the year. Various sources, look 'em up yourself. :yep It was in the local paper earlier this week, can't find an archive but here's another one: http://www.mmafighting.com/2009/11/...nor-signs-mma-bill-into-law-ufc-event-likely/ It will almost certainly be in the summer, probably around #115-120, with Florian guaranteed in the main event, and most likely taking place at Fenway Park or TD Garden. :happy
A Diego Sanchez match would be nice. Won't buy Kenny til he takes care of that "L" now that they're both in the same division.
I'm pretty sure that's on the table. :good This would be my first live MMA event. Either Fenway or the Garden would be a fantastic venue...Garden probably a bit better, although Fenway would have novelty value and I can't remember the last outdoor UFC...
Fenway park although I hate the Red Sox would be amazing. If Kenny is the main event then the logical fight is a Diego Sanchez rematch although if Ken where a co-main event id dig fights with Nate Diaz(if he wins vs Maynard), Tyson Griffin, or Frank Edgar.
Sounds like fun. I haven't had a chance to go to a live UFC event since 1994. They had UFC 4 and 5 in Charlotte here in North Carolina - but I had a last minute conflict and couldn't go to UFC 4.
Sherk's name is irrelevant in the lightweight division now. BJ Penn ruined him. KenFlo vs. Sanchez II sounds about right.
I think Sherk could dominate Diego in an extremely boring fight if he wanted to. Not that the thread is about Diego, but Sherk isn't irrelevant just because he lost to Penn, beat a very good lightweight in Tyson Griffin, and then lost a seeming boxing match to the #2 contender in Edgar.
