I only caught the last round of the the fight and just wondered if someone could give me an honest view of how the fight was? Heard Kennedy was down early on but won on points. Was this fair and does he have any potential? Thanks :good
Robbery. I had Djeko win by two points. He controlled the first half and should have two 10:8 rounds because of the knockdowns.
It was entertaining. Djekos reach was Kennedys biggest problem. Kennedy came on strong in the second half, because Djeko was tired. K. showed heart and the better stamina.
Good hard fight, really enjoyed it. I had Djeko by 1 point, but Kennedy showed a lot of heart and grit. Wouldn't say a robbery but a draw would've been a fair enough result I think.
Sky+ missed this off the recording last night because the programme ran over the slot. I normally record next programme but did no bother because it was Super Casino and would have taken up too much memory Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
I did exactly the same as you. Recording ended at the end of the ninth. Used the "catch - up" option, which had the complete programme. It was a really entertaining fight. Refreshing after that very poor non - effort from Morales.
I had it a draw watching it live, I felt Kennedy was the better boxer and won most of the rounds. Rewatched today on catch up and give it to the Belgian lad by 1 round, was close but find it hard to give Kennedy the fight. Robbery no but definitely a hometown decision
Kennedy should have finished him in the later rounds, one scored knockdown wasn't a knockdown imo, but Djeko was a reet handfull, huge lad, and really brought it, and I honestly couldn't believe he lost on points. I thought if it went to points it was in the bag; he landed meaningful punches clean, often and had 2 10-8's. I felt a lot of Kennedy's shots were only 'going' an inch through Djeko's face; the range was a problem for him and his punches weren't 'meaningful' on the whole, though he didi have good success too. It was a close fight but after all the rounds, on points, it seemed pretty clear. Like I said, viewed as a whole fight, Kennedy did very well to survive and be competitive and for me, could have justifiably won it in the later rounds with a gumshield-biting minute of sustained spiteful pressure and a TKO. I honestly think this will be a rematch next fight. And I'd expect it to be another good s**** to watch.
