Bayless was the same ref for the Margarita fight and he saw first hand the damage that cheating ******* did to Cotto.

I can't blame Bayless for stopping the fight...he is a damn good ref !!!!

rnd 10 and 11? when Cotto was running like the wind and cowering in the corner eating punches after punch? You even had Cotto winning the 12. :rofl

Your have lost all credits on any future post about boxing.

Wow.........are you that big of a Cotto fan that you can't even see when totally gets his ass kicked???

Manny walked right through Cotto's best shots and Miguel wanted nothing to do with Manny over the last 4 or 5 rounds. He went from stalking Manny for the first couple of rounds, to back-pedaling the last couple.

The ref should have stopped it earlier, but it's still ok that he stopped it when he did. Miguel was not throwing punches and was obviously just trying to make it through the last round. Had it gone longer, Manny would have either dropped him or hurt him again.

He should of stopped it abit earlier but Cotto took a heavy shot in the 12th. Enough was enough.

After what i understand,Kenny Bayliss did an exelent job in the cotto-pac fight..IF a fighter are being hit constantly for 11 rounds, with the same face as cotto´s,then i think it´s best to stop it!
I have the greatest respect to cotto for fighting back for so long...Cotto is probably not happy with the stoppage, but his health is more important than his pride...He has a lot to be proud of!

There's nothing wrong with protecting the losing fighter from brain damage, champion or not.

I assume you are talking about Cotto there, but you never can tell on this forum. Cotto's consistently gotten away with worse. Would you have docked him points on this one or in other bouts? Possibly even DQed him?

Gale Von Haye, is that you? With an alt account, no less?

Bayless told him to protect himself. Cotto couldn't keep his guard together. The ref really didn't have a choice, at that point. I love seeing Bayless in the ring - he gets all bug-eyed and screams the count loud enough for people driving by to hear.

What would you call that - retrograde movement?

I was rooting for Cotto, but he was barely holding on. His corner had been looking to end the fight for a few rounds and he himself didnt argue too much when it was time. In terms of Cotto easily winning the last 3 rounds?......silly.
