    They say "the best one is the one you don't notice" but that is too black and white and doesn't always hold true.

    An official should not make a nuisance of themselves, or disrupt the flow of a fight needlessly. They should be on top of things, keeping the action clean, keeping things rolling by breaking up hard clinches where nobody's working (or able to work due to an awkward entanglement), and issuing ample warnings - and making sure they're acknowledged by the fighter, as well as issuing point deductions at their discretion when their warnings aren't heeded.

    Bayless was on top of things and performed his job admirably. He was noticeable but not distracting and not outside the call of duty.

    He's always been pretty solid.

    What he says - you must obey.

    He's a great referee but his performance tonight doesnt deserve any praise.

    There were times when he stopped the action when it shouldnt been stopped, even when mayweather was throwing combinations in the 8th that was staggering Shane he halted the action. Now I was rooting for Mosley but what Bayless did was unfair there.

    It would be great if we had more threads like this. It's a nice positive thread instead of some bull**** like "so and so was robbed" "so and so is old" "he's washed up" "He sucks" etc. I really wish there were more threads like this on ESB. It would be a much much much better place.

    True. Bayless is a good ref. But, I think that he should've deducted Mayweather from using his left elbow. He warned him twice but Mayweather kept on using his elbow. Not to mention that Mayweather leaned on Mosley's back of the head to put him down. Other than that, Bayless did good on this fight.

    So far we've had, "Mayweather is a wonderful thing", "Nazim is a wonderful thing" and "Kenny Bayliss is a a wonderful thing". I'm waiting for "Nature is a wonderful thing", "Space is a wonderful thing" and "Beer tastes quite nice".

    Just high on boxing being the way it's supposed to be, I guess ...
