"I thought that it was a punch at the time. Because I just happened to be on the back side of Shane. We work all the time to be in position but with the movement of the fighters we sometimes get out of position. From my viewpoint it was a punch and I was just like anyone else until I saw the instant replay. From what I could see it was more of a push. That's one I just got to take on the chin because it was a call that I just missed,"

    Would you accept his explanation?

Yeah, it's an honest enough acknowledgement that he got it wrong. :conf

He aint fooling anyone we know damn well what his intentions were. He was doing anything he can to help his own kind.

Bayless is man enough to admit the mistake.

Indeed he was positioned at the back of Mosley, good thing 2 judges scored it otherwise. One judge to be accurate.

From the replays, bayless was not in the back... it was a blatant interference to support mosley.

It could have been better and sincere if at least Bayless said he was sorry. Well, I don't think he is sincere.

Boxing has the human error aspect to it.

Bayless missed the call on a megafight though by being out of position. He admitted he was wrong, dont let it happen consistently though.

Bad call, right man one, Bayless admitted he was wrong, which is respectable. Move on.

He's probably the best ref in the sport at this point.

Problem is that he WAS in the right position to make the proper call.

It wasn't really ever a megafight, except in its promotion.

In reality and in most peoples' expectations, not a megafight.

He has a good track record overall. He shouldn't be on any sort of probationary period of being closely scrutinized because of this. It was a ****up; human as you say.

Scoring that round 10-8 for Mosley shouldn't have affected anyone's overall scorecard, official judge or not. The blunder literally didn't matter in this case. In a close fight, it would have been annoying but forgivable since it's just the one big gaffe in a long career and the wrong angle can completely change your perspective in there.

Bayless could not have possibly had a better viewpoint for this call. He must have been daydreaming.

2 judges saw what really happened and decided to ignore Bayless' ruling. I kinda liked the way it angered Pac though. Man, was he pissed and took it out on Shane!

When i watched it live i thought he was behind shane. He was more to the side upon review but not in perfect position.
