What are you talking about? Almost EVERYONE on this board agree that what Floyd did was LEGAL. It was LEGAL, a cowardly punch but 100% LEGAL. Happy now?

I honestly believe he noticed them coming together again to "apologize" and I dont think he expected Floyd to hit him that fast. Or cheap but legal shot him. That's why he looked at the time keeper to make sure time was in, because after he said lets go, he said "Bell Ring?"

Mayweather would of won, but Cortez said it VERY clearly "Lets Go" and He said it loud, Ortiz just kept apologizing...

Cause some people still want to say that time wasn't in so therefore what Floyd did was illegal.... but that would only change the fight to a NC.

Actually, regardless what the refs did in either of the fights shown, the end result was the same. Both Mosley and Ortiz failed to "protect themselves", and were wide open for the "sucker punch".

All on the suckers. Refs could have done nothing more. How many times does Kenny have to say it?

In the end, Cortez did his job, he just didn't do it well. He did it in a way that left enough doubt to make people argue about it. Now for the record, I agree that Ortiz is mostly to blame here and that Floyd did absolutely nothing illegal... but Cortez could have done a better job. He could have controlled the fight better and made it damn clear that the fight was back on.

I'm pretty sure that had it been Bayless, he would have been so intense that there would be absolutely no doubt that the fight was on again.

cortez is garbage, he should be fired. But mayweathers shot was 100% legit in my opinion, ortiz will never get a chance to fight him again

He did a bad job but it was quite clear, he brought them together "lets go" as a signal to fight.

ok question how is cortez not seeing a legal punch some huge deal? If he saw it it would still not change the results

a ref should be seeing every single punch. that's his job. who's he supposed to watch, the hooker in red in the front seat?
