Mayweather did nothing wrong, however, imo Cortez turning away from the action even though he'd called time in may have suggested to Ortiz that they weren't ready to continue. To back this theory up Cortez clearly wasn't ready as shown by his reaction when he turned to see Mayweather landing the ko punch.

If he had turned to the timekeeper BEFORE calling time in the hug would have happened, Cortez would have stepped between them then called time in.

    Level of blame:

Cortez - inept, not in control
    Ortiz - Naive, unprofessional

Mayweather - took a legal opportunistic shot that many disagree with, bad sportsmanship but he had just been headbutted afterall.

Cortez resumed time but went the wrong way about it.

He should send both fighters to their neutral corners, then time in, resume the fight. He timed in when both fighters were literally at punching distance:lol:

Bayless is going to protect Cortez anyway. He's not going to call Cortez out and say he ****ed up.

    Bayless is a professional.

im not saying that either cortex nor bayless is wrong but im just confuse on why cortez was not paying attention to both fighters he had his eyes on the timekeeper i believe so lets just say the k.o didn't but their was a massive low blow he wouldn't have seen it to take proper action and I would have preferred either tony weeks or steve smoger as a ref

Are you ****ing blind or just dumb? One of the first things Cortez did was put them in neutral corners. He waved his hands together and said "Let's go." Neutral corner time was over dip ****.

And for the people STILL claiming it was a cowardly punch, you are ****ing idiots. Listen to Bayless: "When Ortiz backed away with his hands down, that's on him." The fight had resumed!!! You guys are being complete idiots. Bayless specifically said "apology time" is between the fighters, they are not obligated to have a "ceremony of apology" at ANY TIME during the fight.

It's a ****ing fight for crying out loud. Ortiz made a rookie mistake and got knocked the **** out. It's really that simple.

It seems a lot of you *******s don't understand that Cortez had called them into the center of the ring and instructed them to box. He did nothing wrong, he was only looks to tell the time keeper to resume.

BUT BUT BUT! Bayless was saying that cause he wish he was the ref of that fight lol. Or he wont say any negative things about what cortez did wrong and he has to agree with other refs no matter how bad it gets. <<This is what mayweather haters would say.
