Ali's stylistic kryptonite vs Holmes' stylistic kryptonite. Both in their primes and ready
Height and weight in their prime are similar, but Williams has a 5-inch reach advantage.
    Who wins and how?

Norton wins by a really tight decision.

Norton takes out the chinny Williams with a big overhand right, Williams left his chin in the air, Norton would jab to the body and come over the top with a big overhand right.

Ken wins this by clear unanimous decision. Carl finds the Norton stance plus his jab, overhand rights and constant pressure very hard to fathom. Ken could even pull off a late rounds stoppage.

I suppose that's possible, Kenny had that good right hand and Carl could get surprised early.

Williams wasn't vulnerable to right hands though it was left hooks that was his kryptonite.

I don't agree with @McGrain I know he has way more knowledge than me and I normally agree with his takes but not in this case.

I think Williams would give Norton a good argument he's 6'5 with an 85 inch reach and has some power in that right hand that could maybe trouble Norton.

Obviously I'd pick Norton because he excelled vs outboxers and he did remarkably well vs Ali, Holmes, who are better than Williams obviously.

But I dunno I think Williams could give Norton a good argument he has a fantastic jab and good boxing skills.

People in this thread keep saying Norton will find Williams with his overhand right but that wasn't a punch that caught Williams out quite honestly.

Norton's insane battering to the body will be Williams' downfall. Norton had a strangely underrated left hook, it was especially effective to the body in its looping way. I really don't see Norton fighting off the back foot much in this fight, if at all. By the 8th round Williams is ready to go, the ref stops it when it sems that all the former seems capable of doing is being a staggering punching bag.

I think that this is one of those wars in which both men get hurt on their way to the finish line- I could totally see a stoppage, but I wouldn't know who to bet on.

Norton is just as likely to get knocked out as Williams is, lotsa people underrate Carl's power, but it was legitimate. Cooper, Ferguson, Weaver, Holmes, Witherspoon- His right hand had a lot of pop. But at the same time, Norton's left hook is underrated here, too.

    Either man could win.

Norton's style were probably specifically made to annoy outboxers,I think he gets the edge here.

James Tillis, of all people, dropped Williams HARD with a right hand halfway through round 1 of their fight. Tillis is a long way short of Norton. Norton also hit quite hard with the hook and kept a lot of pressure on boxers.

I like his chances of a stoppage and I wouldn't overly count out him getting it quite early.

Norton may well knock him out but it wouldn't be with a right hand.

Tillis actually had quite respectable power when he planted his feet. He stunned and dropped Greg Page hard in round 2 of their match- And Page had quite the iron chin.

I rate him a notch below respectable personally. He never stopped anyone quarter-decent and his ratio is massively inflated by deplorable opposition. I remember him winning at least one feather fist award in the magazine year end awards.

He caught Page as good as one can, with both punching simultaneously and the blow clean and unseen. Tho Page was quite stunned, it was actually a push that sent him down in the end. I wouldn't call it dropped hard. Tillis should have been DQ'd for that blatant dog punch well after the ref was pulling him away and thought he'd stopped him. It was so late the ref had actually mostly turned away from Tillis. He got a full swinging roundhouse left to the side of the head in on Page while he was down and this certainly didn't help his state of affairs. It was so late you could actually see him thinking it thru and going, yeah why not lol. As it was Page was well and truly ready to roll next round. I agree that for a time Page did have a great chin.

Sure do not see Williams absorbing to the body very well against this guy's punches. And that sustained body attack of his with both hands.

As a result I guess we could say that would cause Carl to drop his hands. Geez--is that possible to drop them even moreso?
