    Round 11

Cañizales is continuing to build off his work in round ten, landing a pinball launcher right in the belly of Teraji and forcing him on the backfoot. Cañizales is trading jabs with Teraji, fencing, getting the better of the duel as his jab is snapped out stiffly, getting a second wind as Teraji still looks exhausted. Teraji now mouth-breathing as well. Teraji with some feints, keeping the right holstered for some reason (maybe hurt?). His jab ain't cutting it, Cañizales giving him no respect, cutting the ring off and swatting up top with a left hook to make Teraji dash the other way only to catch him circling into a right hand.

    10-9 Cañizales

    104-103 Teraji

Cañizales needs another knockdown on my card to earn the strap. Without it, he's stuck with a draw even if his momentum carries these last few minutes.

Teraji must have heard an open scoring update that we haven't

    Round 12

Cañizales is doing his best to keep the pressure up but he's nearly as gassed as Teraji. Both look ready to collapse. Cañizales the aggressor winging haymakers at the body; Teraji floating around tossing pot shot jabs. Nobody landing anything of note. Final half-minute, Cañizales gets a jab in the throat and right hand on the ribcage. Teraji ducking by the ropes, nearly caught with a left hook coming upright.

    10-9 Cañizales, close

    113-113

As of the ninth I believe he was up on two judges' cards; third had it level.

Without a doubt, you could tell by the chilled demeanor of Kenshiro when they were reading the scorecards.

But that was only the updates that got translated and passed to the broadcasters. I bet they had another one locally because he changed gears totally in the 11th. Must have known that he just had to survive.

Would have liked to see Cañizales at least get the moral victory of a draw, but can't be too mad at those scorecards.

Teraji may fight like an idiot sometimes, but he is offensively potent - and banked enough of the middle rounds whooping a tired Cañizales' ass until his own fatigue set in to comfortably retain.
