AFAIK they only ever do the WBC open scoring announcements following completion the 4th and 8th rounds, but yeah maybe someone in his corner got a glimpse over a judge's shoulder or something.

Last 2 rounds was just Teraji running around while flicking out a jab, he knew he was up

Canizales looking gassed from round 2 onwards probably didn't help him on the judges cards because looks matter

I would have been fine with a draw but not mad that Teraji got an MD

Canizales gave a good account of himself & if he improves his conditioning, he can achieve a lot more

Anybody remember early in Teraji's career, around 2017-18, he was billed as "Ken Shiro" everywhere? On forums, in mainstream sport news articles, his BoxRec page - literally everyone called him that and thought it was his name. I was the one that saw, I think on Japanese Wikipedia, that his first name was Kenshirō and last Teraji. Stubbornly went against the grain and called him by his real full name in every post and poll or RBR thread title here, and on Twitter replies, and lo & behold...the rest of the world over time in a sea change has adopted that convention. TV graphics and ring announcers used to just say "Ken Shiro", now it's "Kenshirō Teraji"

I don't think it's unreasonable to claim credit for his official billed name changing to Teraji and single-handedly influencing the global boxing community to call him by his actual name instead of Ken Shiro. Which, ridiculously, he adopted as his moniker in the first place (pretending his first name was his entire name) because he wanted people to associate him with the mononymous protagonist of Fist of the North Star. Yeah, I shut that silly **** down.

I take it back - @Boxing Prospect was hip to his real name as early as I was.

But I'm the one that aggressively pushed calling him that and didn't indulge his ego by using his fake anime name.

Hell yeah, CCC earned that much. And from what we saw, stoppage revenge isn't out of the question which could set us up for a classic trilogy. :ggg

That was a fun fight. Lots of back and forth action. Canizales came to win and he gave Teraji all he could handle. I did notice that Teraji does tend to make fights harder than necessary and his defense is just so porous at times. He also seemed to have been content with just running around for the last 2 rounds, not sure if he thought that he was up on the scorecards and decided to give those last rounds up or if injured his hand.

I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch. Canizales deserves another shot.

For all those that whine about me using fighters' full government names as opposed to whatever theatrical nonsense they want to fight under (to give things an air of professionalism & gravitas), and ask "why?? what do you hope to accomplish by doing that, IB?" - well, sometimes things work out. :D

Not even Nasukawa taking his first stoppage victory all that seriously.

Teraji vs Canizales was an absolute banger. The judges got it right as IMO it was either a Teraji win or a draw. Bit of a shame that it wasn´t a draw because Canizales fought a heck of a fight.
I hope they fight again one day.

Nasukawa looked razor sharp. Unfortunately his opponent suffered a leg injury. And I hope Nacho is doing OK.

Not sure I want to watch the Dalakian fight in full. When the odds for this fight were released I KNEW he was going to loose it. Dalakian has had some luck with judging before and hes just old at this point. Akui has had a though road and I am happy for him. Would love it if he unified with anyone in the division.
P.S. A guy who manages to defend the Japanese belt several times is never to be taken lightly.

Since the turn of the century, 15 boxers have held the JBC Flyweight title, 7 of them won world titles.
    Celes Kobayashi
    Takefumi Sakata
    Daisuke Naito
    Tomonobu Shimizu
    Toshiyuki Igarashi
    Junto Nakatani
And the latest addition: Seigo Yuri Akui

And most who held the JBC Flyweight belt, they got to challenge for a world title.

For anybody else that endowed themselves with the small mercy of not waking up at 4am and thus missed Yonaha vs. Tatsuyoshi, here:
