    Round 9

Dalakian is ramping up the clinching activity even more now as the remaining time shrinks and the sense of urgency to retain his belt sinks in. Sometimes ripping out 4-5 punch combos but fired erratically in the air, window-dressing to disguise a jump in for a clinch. His strategy is apparently to sap Akui's strength (both from chasing Dalakian, and fighting free of his clinches) and go for a late stoppage? Akui dusting him with jabs, straight rights, and left hooks where possible - all on a slippery manic undulating & ducking Dalakian. At mid-range Akui lands more, and cleaner - on the inside it's a messy 50-50 brawl when Dalakian clinches until the ref forces a break.

    10-9 Akui

He's winning virtually every round and landing the far cleaner punches, but according to Seniesa, he doesn't have any answers.

    Round 10

Dalakian ducking and ramming himself bodily into Akui. Dalakian catching Akui's jab on his open right palm. Counter right from Dalakian. Akui walks into a jab on the mush and is knocked off-balance momentarily. Akui tired. Akui cutting the ring off but with less alacrity than in the first nine rounds. Akui making partial contact with Dalakian with head jabs on the outside, and making the most of Dalakian's clinches by banging the body.

    10-9 Akui, very close

    99-91 Akui

ESPN production crew in on the scam, btw. I've been paying attention - even in Akui's best rounds the slow motion highlights during the stool breaks are virtually all flattering Dalakian. No respect for the audience's intelligence whatsoever. Watch the birdie, dummies... :shakehead:

    Round 11

Dalakian is slowing down now, less bouncy, more clinchy. Akui bashing him up as much as he can before receiving the octopus treatment. Dalakian desperately flurrying on body and head with light pokes before grabbing. Akui slow & steady, rolling in, jabbing the face, pounding the body heavily.

    Round 12

Dalakian sprinting to either side, changing directions every few steps. Akui zigs and zags to keep up with him, cuts in close - and is tied up. Dalakian's legs have much less surety now, his steps loose & disjointed. He actually does an inadvertent shoulder-tackle into the referee after flicking a backhand at Akui and richoteing into and buoying off the ropes. WILD inside melee for the last ten seconds, neither really landing clean. Very little leather landing in the whole round, but Akui with the only spiteful stuff even if it only grazed.

Hopefully we don't get two contenders for robbery of the year in the same week, and the judges watched the fight we all watched.
