Co-featuring with Takuma Inoue vs. Seiya Tsutsumi on ESPN+ this Sunday morning, October thirteenth. WBC's vacant world flyweight title will be on the line. Teraji and Rosales are ranked #1 and #2 respectively. Previously the Nicaraguan wore the belt, from 2018 until 2022. In order to make this challenge, the Japanese fighter ended his second reign with the organization's light flyweight title by vacating to move up.
Not the same card, btw, as Vince Paras vs. Kyōguchi Hiroto II and Johnriel Casimero vs. Saul Avimael Sánchez - that show in Yokohama will be competing the same day with this one in Tokyo.
The Canizales fight seemed to be a waking call for Teraji. IMO, he will revert back to his old style prior to the Yabuki fight, and box cautiously from here on. I don't think his aggressive style will work against the other top fighters at flyweight.
Any iteration of the winner of this vs. the winner of the Paras vs. Kyōguchi II sounds pretty good for a first defense before thinking about unification with Dalakian or whoever else has a belt when the dust settles. (think everything but the WBA is currently vacant?) Teraji vs. Kyōguchi II Rosales vs. Kyōguchi Teraji vs. Paras Rosales vs. Paras I'm down for any of those.
The IBF is held by Lardizabal, the WBO is held by Olascuaga (fighting Jonathan Gonzalez) and the WBA was won by Seigo Yuri Akui last year (also fighting on the same card) and unless they're fighting again, Paras already beating Kyoguchi in may in their rematch
Ah okay, yeah, the WBO and IBF were vacant until a couple of months ago. This is Paras vs. Kyōguchi III coming up on Sunday.
I think it's going to be a night of the b-sides pulling upsets, I can see I win in for every last one of them. Tsutsumi it's going to do a number on Takuma and stop him late, Sanchez is going to beat down Casimero and stop him, Kyoguchi is going to ravage Paras again and if the same version of Rosales shows up that fought Higa, he's going to maul Teraji and make the Canizales look like a walk in the park.
