"Lion hunting down a Jaguar." ?? The writer probably meant "Cheetah", in lieu of "jaguar". Jaguars are powerful, but not known for "swiftness afoot".

There is new evidence which strongly suggests they were actually the same man.

Yeah, didn't Clay go into some 'witness protection' thing? And then Ernie "the stoolpidgeon" Terrell outed him as being the same guy? And then Ali / Clay beat him up for that like they had a 50% discount on punches to the schnozz? I'd also be pissed at having my cover blown in front of everybody. Nobody would have guessed.

@BCS8 - If you look at tape of Clay then Ali the freakish hand size;) is a dead giveaway. I seem to recall Sideshow Bob was rumbled in similar fashion thanks to his clown feet.

Ali was born in 1942. In 1957 he was 15.

Nowadays do 15 year old and 17 years olds face off in the amateurs??

No shame in Clay getting stopped by a more seasoned, stronger and mature amateur in only his third year as a boxer. He clearly learned from it and came back better.
