Rivero García showing tons of heart but outgunned by Prado.

His nose is spouting blood, yet he keeps grinding his way into the deep trenches and trading uppercuts, then stepping halfway out to line up his sturdy 1-2. Rivero García even landing more sharply at times, but the power disparity is very evident... with Bam-Bam Prada having as many knockouts as Rivero García has fights. (the local favorite, a País Vasco native, has only ever registered one career stoppage victory)

Yes. I expect it'll go the full eight, unless stopped on cuts. Both guys able to handle what the other guy is dishing out.

No defense whatsoever, this is bilateral rock 'em sock 'em robots stuff... Both have decent chins and even the harder puncher only has a 50% kayo rate.. they're going to just keep wailing on each other like this in the second half and probably shorten each other's careers by half a decade in the process. :shakehead:

I mean, I'm enjoying it, but..

The commentator for EITB has it knotted up on their unofficial scorecard. They gave Prado the second & fourth, and Rivero García the first & third.

The commentator now has Prado in front, makes sense to me, definitely seemed to edge the 5th with a high volume of body combos.

    48-47 Prado

GRG is a tough SOB, his septum must be totally disintegrated by now, but he rallied and probably won the sixth with some chopping rights, and managed to sidestep a lot of Prado's uppercutting flurries delivered from a bulldozing crouch.

Commentator scored it the same. 10-9 Rivero García, 57-57 all.

Seventh to Prado. He's relentless with the uppercuts into the chest, while cue-balling GRG's own gloves into his face with the outward karate-chopping jab from up by his own face. GRG blowing hard now, blood continuing to drip liberally from both nostrils, spending increasingly more time shelling up on the ropes.

67-66 Prado. (on my card and that of the commentator for EITB)

GRG needed to somehow trudge his way ahead in the finale there, but couldn't. Slogging until the bell was all he could do. Prado getting a little dirty in the home stretch, flipping out some chicken-wings elbows to position GRG on the ropes and keep pumping in jabs & uppercuts.

77-75 Prado (my score and EITB's unofficial commentator's scorecard)

74-74?? So two rounds even? Eh, I guess in the first half there were a couple of toss-ups. If anything, though, I'd say that a couple of those early GRG rounds had wiggle room to go the other way and make it a bit wider for Prado. Not sure the hometown guy shouldn't be thanking his "luck" to remain undefeated here...
