After accepting to fight Sebastian Fundora in the USA for what could be considered a WBC title eliminator fight, Sergio Garcia relinquished his EBU super welter title. Spanish promotor MGZ (currently promoting both Garcia and Lejarraga) planned to stage the EBU EU title between Kerman Lejarraga (32-2-0, 25 KO) and Orlando Fordigiglio in Spain, but that fight has now been cancelled, given that the EBU today decided that Dylan Charrat (originally scheduled to fight Garcia in France after the French promotors won a purse bid against MGZ) (20-0-1, 6 KO) should fight Lejarraga for the EBU title. Purse bid 9 June if the promotors cannot reach an agreement before that date (source: espabox.com). I have no idea who would be the favourite between Lejarraga (who looked pretty shot against Jez Smith in his last fight) and Charrat, but the Frenchman is undefeated and won his two last fights back in 2019 on TKOs. Should Lejarraga be stopped again, I don't see him going anywhere really. I guess the winner of this fight will be offered good money to defend the title against one of Matchroom's British super welters, such as Cheeseman or Fowler later in 2021, as a sink or swim for being promoted to win something above the British/European level.
