Good for Kermit. After the Margo fight I believe that ES is totally overrated as a trainer. The way he dished Kermit after his loss what messed up. Anyway, he is a great comentator but not necesarily a great trainer. Maybe he needs to retire as a trainer.

I don't think it matters or not whether he has Steward in his corner. He's a good fighter, but will never be one of the elite Welterweight's. He needs to work on his defense big time.

That's what i was going to mention. It was pathetic how he jumped right into the booth with that stupid smirk on his face and talked about the fight as if he had no connection to what just happened. It was your fighter that just got brutally KOed. It's stuff like this that tells me he no longer cares. Maybe once he was a great trainer but now, i think he's overrated.

he also was giving cintron horrible directions during the fight. telling him that margo was getting tired and misleading. IMO cintron would have lost anyways but Steward did nothing to help

I think he's been overrated for awhile now. His fightes have suffered some KO losses lately, including a couple of upsets. I think Manny's just in it for the money now and is living off his past success. And if he's not really dedicated past the paycheck, he's doing a disservice to his fighters.

I agree to some extent,he isn't that good anymore,he doesn't click with the fighters anymore but he doesn't do it just for money

You might be right. The thing that really made me think that his interest was totally monetary was how quickly he bolted from Cintron's side to get on the HBO broadcast for the Cotto/Gomez bout. I could be wrong, though, that's just how it looked to me.

He had to do it,he's payed for it,but the way he did it puzzled me,he didn't look sad for Cintron,he looked happy for Margarito.I could not have done it cuz I would have put heart in it and would feel bad after my fighter just got KOed

Yeah, but he got paid by Cintron, too, and I don't think a trainer's job ends at the final bell. I think he should have made arrangements with HBO to NOT work that night. He had to know there was a chance Kermit could lose and might need some support. I imagine that HBO would have made that accomodation.

And you're right about him acting happy for Margo. That seemed so weird to me.

I honestly hope the man who showed up against Jessie Feliciano doesn't rear his ugly head again.. That was plain garbage..

Emanuel Steward is a great trainer and gentleman.

He wish Cintron the best :good

He helped Cintron after a KO loss to become world Champion again and it was Cintron himself who wants the rematch with Margarito.

But it is nothing special when boxers and trainers split. Boxers are free human beeings and they can do what ever they want.

Manny always abandons the loser. He is like the Don King of trainers.
