The damned doctors stopped the fight. Someone wanted to protect Williams. Martinez beat the crap out of Williams without having time to train for the fight!

Yeah it was completely suspect that Merchant did not even mention the possibility of a rematch with Cintron

Kermit looked as he gave a very good acting performance. He was on the ground kicking and holding the back of his neck for minutes. I doubt if told the doc anything. I don't wish hurt on nobody but that looked suspect.

Why? So we can watch Cintron perfect his dive? Guy is at least two grades below PW. Lets move on and see Williams in a more meaningful match.

It happened in the SM fight now it happened here. PW is being shamelessly propped up by HBO. You know what's strange: PW isn't comfortable with it. It shows. He has all the talent to stand on his own without bogus outcomes. It's degrading to him personally. . .as a fighter.

After the SM fight PW had the look of, I wouldn't say a beaten fighter, but someone who was uncomfortable with the way he "won". And tonight, look at how PW raised his hand in victory. . .totally half-hearted.

He doesn't want to "win" like this. I think he would have been more at peace with himself if the fight had simply been ruled a draw or no-contest and a rematch in two or three months been immediately declared.

Two grades below PW? That's a good one.

Paul's team and HBO want a megafight now because he's not head and shoulders above the b-level fighters like he's made out to be. The sooner they can get a massive payday, the sooner they won't have to risk him getting outboxed by a Cintron-caliber fighter again.

Are you basing this conclusion on the punch stats? Cuz Cintron landed at a better clip, landed more, and showed good defense. It was by a 2 punch margin mind you. . .hence a draw and immediate rematch should have been declared.

Again, Just look at his history and how he reacts to adversity. He falls apart. Also you ask why would a fighter not cont in a fight he might be winning. Well you never know what a person is thinking. Maybe, he felt Williams coming on that round (even though I thought Cintron landed a good right hand in the 4th) ,maybe he thought he could get an easy win this way since he thought he might be winning, who knows. But one thing is I do not believe he was hurt at all. If he was he wold of not been complaining like he was after he was already strapped into the stretcher. He said he was alright, he said he wanted to continue. So right there tells you he was not hurt. The problem is he laid there not moving, not making any attempt to move or get up. Only after it was too late did he make a claim he wanted to go on and that he could go on. Either he wanted to quit or he thought he could get an easy win. Just look what he did get away with in the Martinez fight. He was knocked out, and he played the same games, and he got away with it. The fight was called off because he was ko'd, then he rested for a while, then he made a big stink about it and they let the fight go on after a long interruption. The end result is he came away with a draw, in a fight he clearly lost. If you ask me this situation is not much different. He was looking for an easy way to win and it back fired. He is another Luis Santana.

    Forget Cintron.

I hope they just change that crappy fight to a No Contest and that Cintron never fights on TV again.

LMAO @ some people saying Williams didn't deserve to win the fight. Neither did Cintron! Also, Cintron should have just gotten up. It really didn't look like he hit anything. I'm expecting him to have a broken bone, punchered lung, etc. for the way he acted.
