....viewers on 24/7, whenever he is on! 30% more viewers is a HUGE amount. This ISN'T a reason to justify more than 50/50 split or a reason to gloat or anything like that. I just thought it was interesting to hear this, especially as I always thought Manny & Floyd did similar numbers, (albeit Floyd does more) until recently when Ben Thompson of F.ight Hype had said he had seen the REAL PPV numbers for Cotto vs Pacquiao and they were CONSIDERABLY less than the 1.3M (?) Bob Arum reported. It would "appear" that Bob Arum has been inflating PPV figures for whatever reason.... What do you think of this ESB? (try and keep it civil)
honestly i don't give a **** about these multi millionaires arguing over their bank balance.I am a fan of boxing so I want to see them box not discuss income splits and revenue streams.
Read the sentance below your first red on and you will see the reason. I'm not sure he specified I will look up the article in a moment....
Am I gonna' get any of that PPV money? No? Then what the heck do I care about who does what in PPV numbers? I just want to see the fight. 50-50 is the most reasonable deal and the one that'll help make the fight happen the easiest. So I want to go with that.
30% more viewers watching 24/7. That's a given, heck if Pac started calling his mum a mofo and **** on reality TV I bet it would garner a lot of attention too. Floyd is exciting outside the ring, a lot more so than Pac. Pac-JMM did considerably more than Floyd-JMM, their both equal draws, just a case of who they fight and when they fight them.
Yeah, How can we know if Floyd did more if they wont release "those ben thompson fighthype numbers" And yeah 24/7 with Floyd anyday than 24/7 with Pac.
Well it's not really a measure of Floyd doing more as he hasn't fought Cotto yet. Secondly I think if the VP of the network says Floyd is the "undisputed PPV KIng" that is a pretty solidnand clearn statement IMO. As for people who don't care aboutnthe PPV numbers fine, then don't complain when Showtime won't show Froch vs Bute or HBO won't support Ponce De Leon rematch with Broner. Like it or not PPV figures matter! It's also a good borometer of how well the sport is doing. It's not a matter of I'm getting some of the revenue which I'm clearly not butnboxing is a business first before a sport nowadays and decisionsnare being made with that in mind unfortunately
