Rees with a winging left hook misses, but Rees is coming and Derry is backing up, weak little jab lands but Rees walks threw it. Big left hook and a big right hand land for Rees, and another left hook. Rees backs up just a bit takes his time, and sweeps a left hook that lands on Mathews. And a big right hand by Rees. As Rees stops throwing they stand there and Derry doesn't use his jab. Rees is taking a breath when he wants to and fighting when he wants to. Dictating the pace. Rees bulls in wild right misses, and now Derry lands a jab followed by a nice right hand. In close, they hold, and the ref breaks it up. Rees misses with a leaping left hook, Derry lands his own left hook, but then Rees fires a right hand, that lands, and Rees pushes Mathews to the ropes.

The Rock is knocking the dirt off Matthews with some nice lefts, in control of the fight right now. I can see him stopping Matthews by 10.

Rees stands in the pocket, bobs and weaves, Derry misses with a jab. Rees rushes in lands a right hand, Mathews throws a weak left hook, Rees with a left hook as Derry gets pushed to the ropes. Oh! big right hand by Derry. Big uppercut by Mathews, and Rees lands a big time right hand. 1-2 lands for Rees. Derry fires a jab that grazes Rees' face. Mathews backing up and moving again. Big right hand by Rees lands and Derry backs up. Derry on his toes a bit, jabs, and Rees comes in a rushes in with a right hand and they clinch. And again late in the round Derry is hurt! BADLY HURT! Rees big right hand! Left hook! Right hand! Mathews is saggering around and the ropes hold him up! 5 seconds left! Right hand! Left hand! Right hand! Left hand! And the bells sounds! Derry Mathews is saved by the bell.
