1- Floyd 2- Pac 3- Calzaghe 4- Hopkins 5- Vazquez 6- JMM 7- Hatton 8- Raph Marquez 9- Cotto 10- Winky 11- Calderon 12- Juan Diaz 13- Mijares 14- Mosely 15- Dawson 16- Kessler There ya go! Now its not a knock on the guy...just how I see it. (And btw, I come about my p4p rankings based on ability/skill, resume, accomplishments, etc.)
Well, Calzaghe has accomplished enough and is highly skilled enough (head to head as you say), that he deserves the respect he is garnering. Plus, his resume is better than most make it out to be. I agree with most of what you said (tho I have Pavlik below Kessler) tho.
Depends how you see 10 years of defending the WBO belt in England. Some people see it as accomplishment, some people like me call it a complete waste. lets be realistic, if Pacman or Floyd now decides to sit at home defending 1 belt for the next 10 years to subpar competetion, what would you think? We critisize them heavily for not fighting the very best, heck I mean they get critized for fighting undisputed champs(Baldomir) & ATG's(MAB) yet alone if they were to stick to nobodies. Pacman & Floyd would look damm near superman, alot closer to superman than Calzaghe had they stuck to B level comp for 10 years. Hence why I say H2H is all subjective to competetion.
I agree that his competition level hasnt been elite at all. But Eubank, Lacy, Reid, Bika, Mitchell, etc. isnt what I would call subpar competition...those are all very good wins vs very good fighters. But with p4p you have to take other things into consideration...like skill level, something noone can doubt when watching Joe fight, he is among the best in the world in that right. And accomplishments, like his defense streak, being undefeated for so long, the dominant way (in most of his fights) in which he stayed undefeated. Among other things of course. I agree that he could have done MUCH more, but p4p, at least the way I look at it, I think he is one of the best out there.
