Kessler, 1 of the best B level fighters in my time, can he become an A level fighter?

    You're kidding?

What was unfair about the judging in the Calzaghe fight?

Joe whipped Kessler fair and square, there were no contentious or fight-changing decisions...

Most people in ESB knows what i think of Bute. A win vs Bute is for me not enough since it for me aint a better win than vs Froch.. To become an A class fighter, Kessler must not only beat a fighter thats not suided for him, but he must also show that he got some other tacs hidden..

If he against Ward, stopped trying to preassure him, and tryed something else, dont know what, just anything, then I would rate him A class maybe.. I cant take this further cuz i simply cant explain with my shitty english..

Kessler is the best B level fighter because he does everything in that category so perfectly.. But thats just the only thing he got, and that makes him so easy to read, and therefor a B level fighter.

Just Think if Kessler had to face Pacman oO.... Now that takes a A class fighter to do that..

Calzaghe is at least a top 50 atg. I'd say Ward will become a highly regarded atg too and let's remember those were very harsh circumstances on Kessler with than cut, he only had 11 rounds, had been coming off a lay-off and was getting head butted a lot. I think Calzaghe beats Kessler in Denmark without bs judges and Ward probably does too but there is no shame in that.

Again... Please dont get me wrong.. The decision in Cardiff was fair and square... My point is just: Kessler won the 1/3 of the fight.. If the fight was in Denmark and Kessler was without injury, he could very well have beaten Calzaghe.. The edge on the scorecards is not the only advantage you have as a hometown fighter.. You also get major support from your fans and thats a factor too.. I just stated the thing with the judges because, many would probably say if the fight was in Denmark they would rob Calzaghe, but i think that Kessler could have beaten Calzaghe in Denmark.. It would have been close in Denmark.. But i still think it is possible...

I understand what you are trying to say, but old version of Calzaghe beats Kessler. Calzaghe fought most of his career with damaged and broken hands and had hands so bad that he was told he wouldnt be able to box before he turned pro.
Remember it was Calzaghe that had Kessler hurt and the ref pulling Calzaghe away.

Kessler has the best active SMW resume and has been willing to travel and fight the best.

For people who have doubts about Kessler, consider this. If Hopkins (who many praise on ESB) fought and beat Kessler (before Kessler lost to Ward), it would arguably be Hopkins best victory and due to Kessler not being a former WW, I think would be a better victory than Trinidad

Personally I don't think much of your definition of A-class fighters ie. have more than one tactic and beating a fighter not suited for you.

I mean you call Ward A-class and yet he fights in the same way all the time ever since he stepped up and who the hell did he beat that didnt suit him???

No. To me A-class would be a fighter that over a period of time has consistently shown domination on his peers.

Your remark on Pacman is just stupid. Nobody would be favoured against him in a p4p sense.

Calzaghes hands was fine against Kessler while the dane didnt spar and had the broken hand sedated before the fight. If you dont think that had an impact then I'll sell you my Eiffel-tower.

Calzaghe-Kessler was a close fight with Joe winning 115-113 or maybe 116-112 meaning 1 or 2 rounds should change winner. Surely that would be possible with a healthy Kessler in Denmark.

I think Kessler would benefit from a trainer like Enzo Calzaghe. Kessler punches well and that wouldnt change, but I would like to see Kessler putting punches together again and throwing fast combinations and punches in bunches. He hasnt done that in his last few fights (maybe that is due to the eye trouble). Kessler doesnt fight well when backed up. If Kessler can change these things, I think he will be harder to beat.

Calzaghe did NOT fight with a broken hand. Him having broken his pinky or whatever as a kid is irrelevant. Joe had the best camp he could have while Kessler had the worst.

So what if Joe had Kessler hurt? What does it matter? In fact that round was a round that Joe did not win on my card AFAIR.

If you think the fact that Kessler had that didnt make a difference, then it's your opinion even though it goes against any rational and conventional thinking.

The fact that Kessler said his hand was fine is just him not making excuses and giving Calzaghe all the credit he could. They where (and are) friends in real life. The only one making excuses on Kessler's behalf is me. His ******ed nuthugging fan. :)

(I've followed Calzaghe since his impressive win on the Tyson-Nielsen card in Copenhagen. Best fighter on that card.)

    Konklusion:

Kessler is a B-Class fighter, and proberly the best of the B-Class fighters, means that Kessler can beat all B level fighters alive atm.

If Kessler wants to become a A-class fighter and a top p4p fighter he needs to beat a slick fighter, maybe a remach with Ward or a fight with Direll. If this happends Kessler should seek middleweight or light, and win another titel to secure a legacy :D

lol who are these ***gots calling Mikkel Kessler B level?

What exactly warrants A-level to you?

Kessler is an AWESOME fighter. He uses a very conventional style with his excellent conditioning to really time fighters with a boxer-puncher style.

He also has shown heart as he did against Froch, where he essentially beat Froch at his own game.

He has two losses, against arguably the greatest SMW of all time, as well as who is probably the best current SMW around today. And neither of these fights were total blowouts, in fact he was arguably Calzaghe's toughest fight (Joe has said this in the past).

Kessler is A level. That being said, I worry for his health after the eye problem. He should consider retiring if it's giving him any problem.

But Calzaghe fights (or fought) with the fear of breaking his hands and thus adjusted his style to live and fight whilst reducing the risk. Kessler threw some very meaty shots in that fight, injury or no injury Kessler threw caution to the wind and threw with that hand regardless of injury.:good
