I didnt say Calzaghe had a broken hand for the Kessler fight, but noted he had bad hands throughout his career, that is fact.
Kessler said straight after the fight that he didnt have any hand troubles. KESSLER SAID.
So you are saying Calzaghe had his best camp and Kessler his worst. Is this fact? Or are you making this up? Are you saying Kesslers camp was worse than when he was training with poor eye sight?

So what if Joe had Kessler hurt? What does it matter? In fact that round was a round that Joe did not win on my card AFAIR.

Its a round that people could interpret differently. I thought Calzaghe won the round, but thats by the by.

Still even if Kessler did have a broken hand, he wouldnt be the first fighter, Calzaghe has done so before and won. Remember Calzaghe also had bad hands throughout his career and couldnt punch with full force continuously, try and deny this all you like to make Kesslers loss easier for yourself.

The fact that Kessler said his hand was fine is just him not making excuses and giving Calzaghe all the credit he could.

He was quick to mention his eye probs after his hard fought (but in my opinion) fair victory over Froch. Though I could do what you are doing and say Froch had the worst training camp, had his flight cancelled 3 times, thought the fight was cancelled and that Froch had a burst ear drum so lacked balance, but I still think Kessler would have won on that night wherever the fight was.

The only one making excuses on Kessler's behalf is me. His ******ed nuthugging fan.

Look I like Kessler and have followed his career for a while, he is one of my favourite active fighters, but he lost to old Calzaghe and couldnt fight as effectively when backed up, and Calzaghe realised by the second half of the fight that was the way to win.

Uppercut (see round 4 against calzaghe if you are in doubt)

What exactly warrants A-level to you?

Kessler is an AWESOME fighter. He uses a very conventional style with his excellent conditioning to really time fighters with a boxer-puncher style.

He also has shown heart as he did against Froch, where he essentially beat Froch at his own game.

He has two losses, against arguably the greatest SMW of all time, as well as who is probably the best current SMW around today. And neither of these fights were total blowouts, in fact he was arguably Calzaghe's toughest fight (Joe has said this in the past).

Kessler is A level. That being said, I worry for his health after the eye problem. He should consider retiring if it's giving him any problem.

So what u are telling us, is that if Kessler manages to fix his problems against slickfast fighters, and addapt a couple more tacs in his game, Kessler could become ATG? Cuz thats the next step for a A-class fighter imo... the problem is how people define A and B class.. I see A-class up there with pac - and for swm Calzaghe, and soon Ward.

As I said it doesnt matter what injuries Joe has had. He wasnt injured in his camp. If you want to go the injury-route then I shall remind you that Kessler has had operations to both hands several times, has 2 herniated(?) discs in his back, 2 loose collarbones and a separated shoulder.

I wont deny Calzaghe's history with handproblems and you shouldnt doubt Kessler's broken hand (that was surgically repaired after the fight) as well as you shouldnt deny Kessler's long line of injuries.

It took several months before the eyeproblems became public knowledge.

Kessler has beaten 5 fighters that either were world champs or became world champs after Kessler beat them. Tarvers biggest win is the worst version of Jones after he came back from HW, lost first time round to double figure losses Johnson and couldnt beat Harding first time round .
Kessler is 9-2 in world title fights and Tarver is 5-5 at an overall lower level.

Trinida may have been an ATG, but lets remember that his best days were at WW *** not MW.
Maybe its you that cant accept the facts
Trinidad before fighting Hopkins had one MW fight, had been put down 7 times that I know of, had a contraversial decision against Oscar and didnt achieve anything else at MW.
Deal with it you weak Alaskan *****, that Trinidad may have been a great fighter but wasnt a great MW.

Calzaghe has had numerous hand ops and breaks. He couldnt punch at full force continuously in any fight. You seem to want to ignore that

The hand was good to go after 14 days of rest!
Let me put it out this way: Kessler went into a fight against a longtime undefeated champion in his backyard, without sparring and sandbags for 14 days!

And you could see it on Kesslers stamina and timing after round 6!

Calzaghe was great and Kessler got a little lesson...
But the fight could have been closer, or with another winner, if Kessler have had 30 days more in the gym...

Why did Kessler fight Calzaghe anyway:
-biggest payday ever (a hell of a lot more then he'd earned before that fight)
-extra money under the table!?...
-chance of being the WBA,WBC,WBO and IBF champion of the world!
-would he ever get a chance of fighting Calzaghe again?:think

This isnt my thread and I dont recall me posting that Kessler was A-class since your definition was .... cloudy...

However I think he is a top fighter that should be ranked in the top 15-20 p4p (if he is active). It is also an irrefutable fact that he dominated his division for years with outstanding performances against the divisions best fighters and he was/is willing to travel to do so which is very rare among the best.
