Kessler gets completely outclassed by Ward and then wins a world title fight in his return, but in your mind he is finished. Your analyzes of Kesslers style before and after the Cokzaghe fight is some of the dumbest **** I've ever read on this forum. Did the thought ever occur to you that Kessler tried to fight from a distance in his loss to Ward? Comparing Ward to a Rubgy player is priceless. Ward has three or four cousins that would smoke Choco. Ward will have a better resume than slappy in two more fights. Learn to live with it.
Kessler basically hadn't lost a round in any fight he had been in, except Mundine. Even then he had only lost a round or two at max in that fight. How about we review reality rather than supplemented history? As for the idea this is related to Calzaghe - nonsense. Kessler is a former unified champion and current three time world champion, Calzaghe doesn't even need to be involved in this conversation to look at the difference between a Kessler who doesn't seem to want to be on the outside vs a Kessler who used to dominate on the outside. Mindless ****s.
Yeah so I guess the posters who called you out on your obvious Calzaghe agenda are just mindless ****s.:verysad
The only reason you bothered to write this fiction is because your a Calzaghe nuthugger. The reason Kessler "hadn't lost a round" is that he was fighting the same class of bums Joe was. For the record, up to the beating Joe gave him, Kessler had a better resume than Joe. The "reality" is Ward would beat the dog**** out of Kessler each and every time they fight no matter if its the 2007, 2009, or 2011 version.
big deal man.....sorry he fought kessler in 2009 instead of 2007. hes had 45 fights, and maybe 5 of them against guys with a pulse....if he has nothing left, im not sure why....unless beating up cans takes a toll on you
Sad but true.. the super 6 is the best thing that happen to Kessler.. before this point his biggest fights were against Joe Cazslappy.. and and.. and.. and.. and.. Anyway.. My point is he is finally fight top flight opposition... So far he has looked so so against the top.. 0-1 vs Joe, 0-1 vs Ward, 1-0 vs Froch.. and Froch is weak.. He was a dead man until Taylor ran out of gas.. other than that he has 1 good win vs Pascal.. so even Froch is questionable.. Allen Green just got the **** beat out of him however I would ask ole Kessler to overlook him... Kessler can't smother his power, he has no inside fighting game.. He might be able to beat him but by the look of things Froch was able to hit Kessler and So could Green.. So take it or leave it Pre Kessler with all his belts against shoddy comp and Joe, vs the current Kessler 1-2 against legit fighters... I don't know which is better.. he seems like the same guy...
whew.... someone seemed to brought a firestorm one one's self.... well, i dont plan to poke you with a stick, since you're plenty poked enuf... but here are some numerical values by BoxRec.com i go by, considering their about as unbiased as you can get for overall performances according to competition.... Andre Ward: 641 points Mikkel Kessler: 603 points Joe Calzaghe: 665 points (retired) lol, im not making this up at all, this is BoxRec.com's numbers, and they devote a vast amount of data to number crunch all this out. But looks like, technically, if Andre Ward gets one more good win in vs a high ranked opponent and then retired, that should bump him +40-150 points or so (depending on his performance) and past Joe Calzaghe's point mark of success, in 23 wins. Ok ok, so i ended up poking you with a 2x4 passive aggressively, but boy do you ask for negative attention!
Sorry sonny. Kessler was never that good. He looked good because he was fighting inferior competition. Much like how Pavlik and Jermain Taylor looked during their reigns at middleweight then were exposed when they stepped up in class. Ward defeats any version of Kessler. Period.
Agreed. This idea that Kessler was great before Calzaghe is exaggerated. He was a good fighter, but had never really faced any real stiff competition. He stepped up against Calzaghe, got beaten. Same with Ward. Calzaghe adjusted and pulled away. But he left a blueprint, which Ward was able to implement. Simply, they were both better than Kessler. Sometimes when fighters step up the competition, they lose.
Sorry, but Ward is a much more complete fighter than Mundine. Stylistically, Mundine could have beaten Kessler too...but he didn't have the confidence or the balls. I agree that Kessler is not near as sharp as he once was though. Froch would have been easy work otherwise.
HE is easily and definitively one of the most idiotic fools on ESB (and this place is overloaded with non-athletic gimps).
I really don't think Ward would ever KO Kessler! Kesslers chin is one of the best in boxing today... just ask Froch..
Ward outclassed Kessler. When someone outclasses the other, time is not a factor. And NO, whether Calzaghe fight happened or not, it wouldn't have mattered. Calzaghe was dumb enough to stay in front of Kessler. Ward... really, there are so many ways for Ward to beat Kessler, it's not funny. Kessler is world class with his 1-2 and he has a good jab. He'd beat most stationary fighters... or those who "come at you". But with those with movement or those with an inside game, he'll have trouble.
