What would it prove if Kessler sat around and faced no one? Taylor is coming off of two losses and just moved up to the division. He's damaged goods right now, and he's certainly going to be looking to build back up his confidence. A fight with a relatively unknown former champ is not the answer. Dawson fights at 175. I doubt Kessler wants to go to 175 and fight another lefty who's bigger than him and a more complete fighter. Winky Wright is not a SMW and is not even thinking of fighting Kessler. Kessler has 3 choices; sit idle and hope a big fight falls in his lap, fight some easy set-ups while he waits for a big fight, or fight best and/or biggest name that is willing to fight him.
Yeah, you're right. Kessler needs a fight this summer and the better the opponent, the better. Miranda is top 10, so he's a very good comeback fight. Still, if Kessler can cash in on a name, I think he should; he certainly deserves it. If Miranda is the best and biggest name...sure...go for it! I'm glad someone stepped up!:good
Is there any more news on his contractual fall out with Palle? Last I heard, Kessler was complaining that palle wouldn't get him the fights he wanted and the case was going to court..... In terms of good potential match ups Abraham or Pavlik could well move up to SMW soon and either would make for a good fight with Kessler. I've heard that AA is talking about moving up before the year is out and that would be a huge fight in Europe.
