They'll have too.... especially with the sucsess of Prizefughter.... it's not like that, but sky broadcasters are obviously aware that the tournament structure works well even as a low level.... so imagine how well this will do.... add Britains only current world champion (a very exciting one at that) and they know you can't go wrong.

 

Some have wondered how Showtime could afford such a tournament on their own. It appears the tournament is not a one-network operation. According to overseas pundits Jorg Lubrich and Dietmar Kreft, several television networks are involved - including ARD (Germany), SKY Sports (UK), Viasat (Denmark) and Showtime (America) taking the lead role on the project. The entire tournament project will cost around $50,000,000 million dollars after everything is said and done. An entire plan has mapped out to cover the costs by the television networks involved.

 

Hope it does get shown on british tv.
be good if sky sports are actually involved.

Tournament Format

• Round 1 - all 6 fight once with points awarded after each bout: 2 points for a win
  1 point bonus for a KO
  1 point each for draw
  0 points for loss
• Round 2 - all 6 fighters against a new opponent, points awarded as above.
• Round 3 - all 6 fighters against a new opponent, points awarded as above. Based on standings after Round 3, the bottom 2 scorers are eliminated, 4 top scorers advance to Semi-Finals.
• Semi-Finals - #1 vs. #4; #2 vs. #3 - winner of each bout advances to the Final. There is a multi-layered tie-break mechanism in the event of ties on points and/or a draw in the Semi-Finals.
• FINAL - crowning the winner of the SHOWTIME Super Six World Boxing Classic.
• There will be 3 fights in 2009, 6 fights in 2010, all culminating in the semi-finals and final championship bout May/June 2011.
