I think it will happen ..

Sauerland will put Kessler against Ward for the WBA/WBC and Abraham will fight Stieglitz for the WBO in the summer ..

Kessler is my favourite fighter so of course I'm bitter. What did you expect? :D

I still wrote the truth though.

How would like Viking Warrior's chances in the rematch?

Personally, I think he needs another fight beforehand.

    Ward-Bute , Kessler-Froch

    There's no need for a second Ward-Kessler

Agreed. He has to beat Stieglitz to shed of the rust and prove himself relevant.

As for his chances well... Ward seems destined for greatness boring or not. He has the speed and the dedication. I think that Kessler will do much better in a return given all the bull before and during the first fight. I wont list all the excuses I have for that loss, but there's plenty :D ).

If Ward gets to travel to Copenhagen Kessler has about an even chance I think. It will be a first for Ward in his professional career and travelling 9 timezones to unfamiliar surroundings is a big deal. I felt Kessler fought a terrible fight the first time around and I think his new trainer will prepare him better than Olsen did last time around.

I'd be interested to know what you think. I always like reading your posts.

    Thanks man. Likewise.

I think there is very little chance that Ward would travel to Denmark, more likely to be on "neutral" ground, but you never know.

As for the 1st fight.....Kessler seemed to be caught completely by surprise. I think Ward's speed from the outside, and then closing the distance quickly threw him off and made him look very average. he seemed unable to adjust.

I think this is also caused the headbutts. I don't buy into it being his "gameplan" to go in there and ravage Kessler's face with his skull. Ward would tap, tap, tap from the outside and then leap in to grab a hold of Kessler before he had a chance to do anything significant.

I think Kessler will be better prepared this time. I think he'll try to go to Ward's body, and throw some uppercuts to keep Ward honest.

But I think Ward is so adaptable, and his an ability to impose his will in fights. I think he is simply too quick at this point for Kessler, and even if Kessler manages to discourage him from going inside, he can simply box him from the outside. He probably coasts to UD. Not wide, but not close.

    Just my early thoughts.

Kessler is still penciled in against Stielglitz for the WBO belt whilst Ward will have to face a mandatory in Anthony Dirrel seeming as the Title has been tied up in the tournament for so long, he wont however have to defend his "Super" WBA strap as the regular has been picked up by former WBO champion Karoly Balzsay.

To be honest I can see one of the new 4 taking on Balzsay for the fake WBA title (Degale, Groves, Oosthuzien, Rodriguez)

But this fihgt will not happen this soon, depending on the out come of the Froch-Bute fight, if Bute stops or dominates Froch then well see Kessler-Bute, whilst ward will probably take on another Dirrell or an American fighter in Oakland.

I peg Ward for having a long, great reign. If part of that is rematching top fighters of your weight class, regardless of how dominantly you defeated them already, then he's in good company. Some of the best in history would be right there, with him. Giving another chance to a good fighter, to see if they can adjust and offer something different, that's not a bad part of the sport. I'd prefer a fight with Bute, but, there's a wish in one hand and I don't want to say what's in the other.

I would like to see a rematch between these two guys now that Bute is going to fight Froch twice. But I think Kessler should tune up against Stieglitz first.

    Nice avatar Tenorio.

I don't see enough British fans bombarding this thread with defensive comments for Kessler(Calzaghe's biggest win) as if he was their mother.

I'm not crazy about a rematch, atleast right now. By fight time Kessler will be 33, been off for about 10 months, and has been fighting once a year the last couple years. If Kessler were to get another fight in first or/and Ward goes to Denmark(unlikely) than a rematch would look better but for this to happen next isn't the most appealing fight for either guy.
