It would be an interesting re-matchup, Kessler is a warrior with no quit in him. I'd love to see it.

that might be because hopkins is a better fighter.

styles come into it too but this will all be a "what if" until kessler resumes his boxing career....

Look, I don't want to get into the wrongs and rights of Kessler's recent fights and where he goes now. I'm sure there will be threads on that, it is inevitable.

Here I'm talking about if people think Kessler could win a rematch or at least do better, no matter how unlikely it is to happen.

sure, but you said calzaghe was spent after kessler and referenced the hopkins fight.

that's why i replied to you this way.

it doesn't mean calzaghe was spent.

I meant to me Calzaghe looked much more tired after Kessler and was ragged as hell in round 12. And this was a while ago now. I don't see it getting better in 2009, was my point.

Im sorry but no, Kessler would not beat Calzaghe, we saw how JC changed his style and started to outbox Kessler, he knows the style needed, and would use that for a full 12 rounds this time. Kessler is really good though,
loved the ko for tongihts fight.

if Kessler is on top which he wasn't doring there last fight, it would be a completly different match. Last time Kessler began training for a match that he thought would happen a month earliere that it endet up happening, that had the effect that he was getting to big and therefore lost a litle bit of speed, which is a bad thing against Calzaghe. Besides that it was obvious that kesslers hand injury did, that he lost some of his pressision in his jab which normally is his strongest weapon. I am not saying that kessler is gonna win if they meet again, but i would say it's 50-50.

He did look tired in the last round, he also looked tired late in the hop fight, you cant beat father time and hes 37, a thing a lot of people on here forget. His style doesnt age well, the fact he's still producing the goods this late in his 30's is testament to him. A fight with kessler in 09 would be by far the toughest challenge out there.
