If they were to fight tomorrow and the odds were 50-50, I would put my money on Bute in all of them.

With ease? No, not with ease. Hopkins would be close and Hops could win. Taylor could also win and would be very close. Pavlik could win, but I don't think he would. Winky...? Well, that's difficult to say since Winky seems to be semi-retired these days, Tarver? Again - Tarver is hot and cold and you never really know which version will show up. Bute easily beats the Tarver from the Dawson 'fight' though (probably the only one that I would even consider call more or less 'easy'.

Claim to fame is irrelevant. Just like MBAs learn that "previous costs are irrelevant for future decisions", it is also rather irrelevant how long their resumes are. Sheika's resume is also longer than Bute's - and so what? When FMJ had 12 fights there were plenty of fighters around him with better resumes - does that mean he would lose to them? Of course not. Resumes are a result of four things: origin (Americans have a far easier time building up resumes), money (Major American and German promoters have an advantage here), time (the longer time in boxing the more time to build a resume) and skill (this is fair for all).

I disagree, I don't think Bute has yet shown anything that marks him as particularly that special. In fact, getting nearly KO'ed by Andrade proves just the opposite. He really needs to do more than hide away defending that one belt to prove otherwise.

Also using Floyd as an example to defend Bute...:D

His best win is Andrade. But, his best fight was his loss against Calzaghe. Those uppercutts he landed on Calzaghe were incredible. Also, we saw his entire arsenal against Calzaghem, and Kessler can shoot laserbeams at you. I have been impressed with Kessler. Oh, by the way, he's got a belt. When you 've got a belt, you are good. Period.

easily andrade. it's been looking all the more impressive lately with the way andrade has been steamrolling the opposition. i think he came away a winner from the bute fight, and he's already crushed some good fighters. kessler shut him out and landed numerous hard shots at will, that was his most impressive outing bar none.
