    This is where we are.

Kessler (for many years): "Come to Copenhagen and I'll pay you 3 mill. We can also fight in Canada and then you pay me 5 mill".

Bute (for many years): "One day yes, but I am not ready yet".

Bute (recently): "You're now injured and have not fought for a long time... NOW I'm ready! But I still want it in Canada though... come and I'll pay you 3 mill".

Kessler replies: "My one eye has healed and the other one is much better. I didn't look as rusty as I could have, but right now is now the time for me to go to Canada for 3 mill. You come to Copenhagen for 3 mill and we can talk". Until we hear back we will be working on other option - most notoriously Stieglitz who German just like Sauerland, and with Mikkel living and training in Germany for many years this is very interesting.

Bute: "Hmm... he did look better than anticipated despite the injury and long lay-off... I would still fight Kessler on my terms in Canada, but I wont go to Copenhagen for 3 mill. I will pursue a fight with Pavlik, because he will be easier to lure to Canada because he really doesn't have many options.

    more like:

kessler: Why would I fight for a belt with the better fighter for less money, when I can can beat a weaker fighter for more money and a belt

    Bute: fine, I'll KO Pavlik

Imho, Kessler would knock Bute into next week so he's better off fighting Pavlik. Kessler is a real champion and has fought tough fights against the best. Who has Bute beaten?

I think they both real good fighters (belt dont mean much anyway) with very good drawing power. Kessler fought the tougher opponents by far. But it makes sense for them to fight at the end of the year. Bute will have beaten Pavlik by then and Kessler will have have one more fight to confirm his return to the top of the division.

Kessler's previous opponents won't be in the ring to help him. If his promoter thought Bute was easy, the fight would be on. Kessler's team disagree with you.

Kessler has been available twice for a fight againt Bute. The first time, he chose to go the WBA way (Sartison and Haussler). Now he goes the WBO way (Stieglitz). He never mad a real offer to Bute. Never.

    Funny thread ...............

Bute right now is becoming a bit of a joke , Pavlik is probably the easiest fight he could of took with the most credible name , i like Bute and im a fan of his skills , but im almost switching off to the guy .

If he doesnt step up and fight Froch or Ward in 2012 , he's done

Yes he did. Well, not shot but different from what he used to be He is not the 1-2 master he used to be. He looks sloppy compared to the old version of himself. Watch back to back Kessler-Calzaghe and Kessler-Froch. The difference is obvious enough for Sauerland to have noticed it.

I think Kessler still doesn't see perfectly and I feel it explains the difference in his style. Hopefully things will get better for him.

Yes, if you look at Kessler-Calzaghe, Beyer, Andrade etc. and watch any of them back to back with Kessler-Ward, Perdomo, or Froch.... there is a glaring difference in his style accuracy etc.

    You are completely right there.

However, to me the Bouadla version of Kessler looked much more like the old Kessler in my oppinion.

Still, a Kessler at the peak would have a fight on his hands in Bute. I would have a prime Kessler the favorite even in Canada. However, if Kessler is not all the way back (which I'm not saying he is, but I think (and hope) he is getting there) then I would favor Bute to win no matter where they fought.

Bute is most definitely a very tough opponent for anyone at 168 including for Kessler, Ward, and Froch.

The uncertainty has a lot to do with Bute being relatively untested at the highest level. And a Pavlik win imo. does very little to change that. He would have to face one of the top 3 or Dirrell. AND he would have to take such a major fight abroad. Otherwise there will always be many question marks surrounding Bute.

I agree with everything in your post. For doing what you ask, he must be able to get a major fight and do it abroad. I can't wait for it to happen.

I agree with everythin you say. But at the same time, except froch, nobody fit your description. Only Froch has fought back to back big competition and fought big fight abroad. Ward only big win is against Kessler and he was not at his best and only fought at home.
