Lets hear the gurus give their predictions on this fight (and explanations would be great too, of course). I have honestly only seen one of these guys fight before, so im not sure what to expect.

Calzaghe has been floored several times coming in swarming, you'll pay a high price for doing that against Kessler. And Calzaghe has to do something otherwise Kesslers great jab will control the fight. I'll bet on a quick fight, Kessler TKO5

Does anyone know how many times Calzaghe's been knocked down and was it a flash knock down or legit? As of right now, i'm still undecided about the fight, it feels like a coin toss. Does anyone else agree?

A fella asks a sensible question & this is the quality of reply........:patsch
From what I have seen of Kessler he is a very good boxer..........& I mean boxer...........Seems strong too but I cant comment on his chin as I dont know whether it has been really tested..........As Mexican said he seems very accomplished at dealing with orthodox fight tactics thrown at him but JC brings a whole new element to the fight..........Constant pressure ...flurries of punches & bags of stamina.........Im not going to say something as stupid as JC wins easily because Kessler to me seems like a very tough opponent & the only real challenge to Joe at this weight..............I think its going to be an intriguing contest but I think JC's speed & experience could prove to be the deciding factor...........Joe isnt the type of fighter who will be dictated to by someone with a good jab & Im sure Kessler knows this & has more to his armoury than just a jab...............Really looking forward to it as it has the makings of a true world class fight.............Also the atmosphere should be electric & the place will be rocking in an enviroment that only brit fight fans can produce..........:good

I'm quite critical of Joe , not his skill but record, however to be fair I look at Kesslers record and I havent seen him fight but I dont see anybody of the calibre of Calzaghe. From what I hear though he's the best challenger out there and he's strong so lets hope for a great fight.

From memory twice. Against Saleem and Mitchell.

He took them both well, good shots but pretty much a flash KD.

Yeah there certainly a lot of debate about it. Im going with Joe via decision, too good for young Kess.

Against Saleem it was very bad defence..

I think Kessler is going to win on better defence and harder punches (I think Calzaghe will get cut by kesslers jab/right)..:hippy

    Kessler TKO 9

    Calzaghe, by UD.

Kessler is a better boxer than Lacey (and obviously less of a hype job), but Calzaghe's intense workrate and speed will prove too much. Oh and that slap accusation won't help Kesslers 'cause one jot.

Here is the Mitchell knock down, at 2:29-2:34 - fine recovery though.

And here is also some Kessler material.

Kessler late TKO or UD 116-112 (in that range).
Kessler hasn't shown his full potential yet...

JC UD. I think this is another level for both fighters - I wouldn't be surprised if either one were found out.

Kessler is good boxer and Calzaghe is too old now. Kessler should be able to outwork Joe and could even stop him late.
